Worked like a charm, thanks. Some advice though... your amp shouldn’t sit directly on your surge. Excessive heat can damage your amp. Even if you put some small 1x1 pieces of wood in between them it would help so heat doesn’t build up between the devices.

It worked for my RX-v679. I had to make sure the zones were completely off. Then followed these steps and it is updating. You will see the *** and some info below it on the display. E.g. S1-15:45%...this was my experience. Your's might vary.

Awesome! Heads up for a Yamaha RN500 you need to shut off the receiver first and then press return and power at the same time. Afterword use the scroll wheel to cycle to update. Press return to switch to network. And the. Press display to begin network firmware update.

My RX-A760 has been showing verifying for at least ten minutes. First time was ten minutes and then said "Not Found" ... My firm ware is showing at 1.21 I think. New one is at 2.60. Using Cable for network ... Any ideas?

Anyone know if we can get the rear speakers to work at the same time as atmos? Will this receiver ever be capable of doing that? If not what yamaha receiver can? I like the berr brown daks so I’d like to stick with those. Also I want preamps on every channel as I run separate amps. Which a lot of the new yamahas don’t have the separate preamps. But I’d like to stay in a decent budget. Not trying to spend thousands

Awesome video! I just updated my RX-V681 to 2.65 and realized the update removes vtuner internet radio and replaces it with Airable radio.. is there anyway to go back to the previous firmware? or can a factory reset restore previous firmware?

Please, do you know how to update Yamaha n-r602 firmware to get not only 80 watts per 2 channels in 8 ohms, but 115 watts per channel in 8 ohms? I read the Manual 6 times, and I didn't find a way to do so. Someone said that I've to send a letter to Yamaha Company to do the "trick". But Yamaha Company is very confused... Example: when asking my phone number, there's no space to put my phone number completely. It's being very hard to dialogue with Yamaha Company, like other companies nowadays (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Dell...). I think they don't want to receive e-mails from any person. Do you know how to get the upgrade firmware from a 2 channel Yamaha Receiver, please?

I've found multiple videos for updating via network but I don't believe my rx-v385 connects to the internet at all. Is there a video somewhere showing how it works when you update via USB? Having lots of issues. :/

Make sure you download the update to your computer, then unzip (extract) the file. Then save the .bin file to the root folder on the USB drive to do the update. Otherwise, it won't work.

Why did it say power off and you said you can power the unit back on and you press the power button? Wasn't the unit already powered on because it said to power off. Just a little confused
