Tool Tuesday - Crowbar
You should wear gloves when doing this type of work.
You can always learn from a bad example. 😃
These are a great addition to a tool box especially for demolition.
The smaller ones are useful for other jobs including removing molding and baseboards.

You mentioned you plan to use the pallet scraps for firewood. One thing to keep in mind is that some pallets are treated with chemicals (against insects or for fireproofing) which make them unsafe to burn due to the fumes.

If i'm not mistaken you can usually tell because the wood will be stained green by those chemicals. Probably also other colors, depending on which chems are used.

The middle size 'crowbar' here is called a "Cat's Paw", and it's primary purpose is to remove nails from wood, rather than prying pieces of wood apart. This tool is usually hung on a contractor's toolbelt and used in combination with a hammer, the sharper edges of the v-shape can be used to dig into the wood to sneak under a recessed nail head. quite effective, I've pulled a couple hundred nails with one in a flooring job. I'd actually forgotten that the flat prybar was used for mouldings though, I may have... left a few dents in the wall the painter had to fix on a jobsite...

Seen so many people hurt themselves on a job trying to do what can be solved with a $10 tool with the right leverage. Combo tools like claw hammers rarely do both jobs well. And the right tool for the job makes it so much safer and easier. Thanks for showing us this.

Thank you, Dad. I do have a father myself, but he isn't the best husband. yet miraculously they haven't gotten a divorce yet. He wasn't the best Father ever. he works abroad, he barely calls at all if he even calls once a month. I always overhear both my parents fighting over the phone. and its just so awkward when my mom tells me to talk to my dad over the phone. he...he doesn't seem like who he was before.
