As an American I was always confounded by Presta valves on the rare occasion of seeing them. It once prevented me from inflating my old girlfriend's tires on her imported Motobacane. This week I bought a portable cordless rechargeable inflator / compressor which came with several adaptors including the Presta valve adaptor. Though I have no Presta valves to deal with now, knowing all about them is brilliantly satisfying. Thanks for a really informative tutorial. Happy touring !

Make fun if you want, but I learned something. There was a presta adapter on my front tire. Guess my bike shop put it on after my last tube change. Thanks for the helpful video!

What idiot decided to put these on in the first place. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Schraeder valve works just fine. I am so sick of everything changing just so that it cost people more money to accomplish something.
