I was just coming here to say that. By far, he showed exactly how to thread the strap to start off and didn't have me trying to guess what he was talking about. I don't know why threading a strap has been so challenging and I have gotten really frustrated with myself. Thank you, for doing this video.

THANK YOU. I watched 3 other videos before this on how to use a ratchet strap - and they all just said hit the release button. Could not figure out why my strap wasn't releasing, I thought mine was broken!! Thank you for explaining every little thing, I was so confused! You're amazing!
@npast14 жыл бұрын
By far the clearest explanation on how to use them. Most people do't show it at the right angle or skip over the steps that seem obvious to them but not to me. For example, some videos showed wrapping the strap through the top opening, some through the bottom, and in many videos that part was quickly skipped, blocked by hands or blurred. You not only clearly showed to wrap the strap through the top opening, but also explained the difference and why it is preferable to use the top opening. Same for everything else. Thank you!

My brother gave me an old ratchet strap a while back. It doesn't have a fancy label that says "release" or anything. So the other day when I had the opportunity to use it, I couldn't figure out how to release it. Now I know, and added my own labels. Also I like the daisy-chain storage method. Thanks for the great video!

For me the best part started at 7:50 Dealing with the excess strap after tying down the load and for storage. That is how we stowed the excess when we loaded our munitions trailers. It had been a few decades since I used that trick and I needed a little refresher. Great job. That works on the big straps too, like the ones we used.

Excellent video. You made this very clear with the added tip of how to un jam the strap when there are lots of windings. Also, the proper feed of the strap back into that slot in the handle is something I never did. So much easier to work with now. These things are amazing once you know exactly how they have to be used.

you know the old saying you cant teach and old dog new tricks- watched you video and it was excellent. I loved the "daisy chain" idea. One thing that always bugged me was after i tied down what to do with the 12 feet of tail. I have rolled, zip tied, rubber banded etc. As I was buckling up my sons kart today I thought why not continue with your idea. I took the excess tail and made the daisy chain again but around the ratchet portion going inside and out of the strapped portion. You end up with a 6 inch daisy chain around the ratchet that doesnt go anywhere and like you said when you get to the track one pull and bam its undone. Worked perfect- Thanks
@TomWylie7 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks Chelseamikex9! That's an awesome idea for daisy chaining/interweaving the tail after you've tied something down! I've always struggled with that aspect too. Just ended up making something up every time for how to wrap, gather, or tie it to something. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Tom, I have been doing that with my electrical cords for as long as I can remember, nice way to use it on straps. Hey I have a product that I thank you would like and I hope I can send you a sample of it to show off to you followers. It is designed to make using Ratchet straps as easy as opening a bag of chips. Please let me know where to send this sample and I will get one out to you asap. Thanks for your time and the great video.
@TomWylie6 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, I really like what you've got going there. Sure, I'd love to try it out. For product reviews I definitely tell it as I see it, so if I like it I'll say so, if not I'll say so too. ;) I'd be particularly interested in checking out your large 2" strap size because that's the one that takes way longer to deal with. There's almost always tons of excess strap length to secure after tying down a load. :) Unfortunately we are right in the middle of moving right now, so I don't want to give you our old address and miss out if the package arrives after our move. But our new address isn't for sure yet, so how about I let you know when I get the new address, and then you can send the sample for me to check out?
@strapcaddie75476 жыл бұрын
Hey Tom, that sounds great I look forward to getting that address. I hope the move goes well. Thanks again.

Hi Dan, wow, I'm sorry that took so long! We are finally moved (mostly) and the other day I got a chance to go set up our new PO Box. I'd love to try out your 2" Strap Caddie! You can send it to: PO Box 135 Plummer, ID 83851. I'll send this to your email address above to make sure you get it. Thanks, I can't wait to try it out! I've already started filming what I normally have to do with the loose strap ends. :)
