What needle side and what is your with and are you using A,B,C,D, and 2 thread or 3 or 4 show us the settings please?

No need for this foot though. For 4-thread serging with regular foot: ************************ Differential feed: 2.5 Stitch length: 4 Left needle: 7 Right needle: 7 Upper looper: 3 Lower looper: 3 Perfect ruffles!! Try it!! Your rectangle for gathering should be 2.5"--3" longer than your hem circumference.😊

I have a Celebrate & I love to do this stitch. Sadly I just don't use it very much.. I would like to add that if you have a dealer ear by, take advantage of the free classes that come with tbe machine. You can take them multiple times. Plus, there's a live person right there to help you.

I just bought the Victory and the ruffle attachment. I tried using it to ruffle along with attaching my ruffle to some fabric and I see I need a lot more practice. My bottom fabric, the fabric that was supposed to ruffle apparently slipped to the left so some parts of the ruffle didn't attach to the fabric. But what did attach was attached with such a wide stitch that it would never hold the ruffle and fabric together. Is that what's supposed to happen? I ended up sewing it again on my regular sewing machine and then did an overlock stitch on the serger. What am I doing wrong?

Sheryl DeMott Try your regular, standard foot and these settings: Differential feed: 2.5 Stitch length: 4 Left needle: 7 Right needle: 7 Upper looper: 3 Lower looper: 3 I hope this helps.😊

Sheryl DeMott The round dials on your serger are called tension disks. They have numbers on them. When I said upper and lower loopers and gave a number, I meant for you to turn your tension disks (round knobs with numbers 0 to 9 marked on them) so that the numbers I gave you appeared at the TOP of the tension discs. Same for those for the needles. The stitch length is located on the right-hand side of your serger. Set to the number I gave you. The differential feed dial is located directly below the stitch length dial. Set that to the number I gave you. When you are finished making your gathered ruffle, set your tension discs to 3 on all four of the round tension disks for a standard setting. Check your manual for the standard settings for your stitch length and differential feed settings after you complete a ruffle. Still need help?😊

Sheryl DeMott Do not use a ruffler attachment if you just want a gathered ruffle. If you are using a ruffler attachment on your serger, so you can attach a straight piece of fabric while creating a ruffle with a separate piece of fabric, please see videos for that particular technique. See my other response to your question if you want to just make a beautiful ruffle that is not created while attaching to another piece of fabric.

@@asheryl1966 Sheryl I had success with the ruffle foot attachment on my Victory today! Focus on keeping the top fabric along the foot edge where it feeds. The bottom takes care of itself pretty much. Don't sew too fast. Good luck! Remember to re-engage the blade after putting the ruffle foot on lol! I had a mess the first go.

Mine does NOT work like this. Same settings but it doesn't really gather consistently or at all. Frustrating. Im sorry I spent all this money on a serger

If you use a narrow chain stitch in combination with the 4 thread overlock, the fabric will not move on you as much. If you don't want to leave the chain stitch in your project, it is easy to pull out. You can also use this 6-thread combination (see your threading chart) when attaching the ruffle to a flat fabric (all in one step). Don't forget if you want it to be more ruffled you can always pull the needle threads just like you do when using your sewing machine. Don't get discouraged: your Babylock serger can be your best sewing tool!!

Tammy Lukas Do you have the manual that came with your serger? If so, look at the "knobs" (tension disks, differential feed, stitch length) in the pictures to determine which ones control your differential feed, stitch length, upper looper, lower looper, left and right needle. Only after you understand where these "serger parts of your machine" are located will you know what "knob" or "dial" to set your serger on to create the ruffle. Always put your settings back on standard settings after you have created the ruffle. Read your manual, Love, because all of the information about it is right there in the pages. Let me know how you did after getting yourself acquainted with your serger.😊

@@TheJudeJane I have a Victory. I understand all the settings instructions you provided except for 'upper and lower loopers 3'. Do you mean use all three or is 3 a setting on a knob I don't see?...Ok, I did it! It did ruffle, but not as much as the video shows. I tried the differential on 2 and it helped a little bit. Is there anything else I can do for a more full ruffle? Maybe I'm not feeding it freely enough or something.
