I have a Hornady sonic cleaner. What you can do is get a jar. Put it in the water that is in your your sonic cleaner. The jar can be filled with paint remover, CLR, vinegar and basically anything. The water with make the jar's liquid transfer to the objects in the jar and work. Easier cleaning and less waste. I've done it with guns parts and it works wonders! This 9mm I had wouldn't reset the slide/upper all the way. Afterwards it ran flawless with the dirt removed.

Really appreciate every detail you put into these - the comments and demo about the more expensive solvents in a jar is pure genius! About the spoons - if you have to clean them for paint to stick to them, then just what the heck are we EATING!!?!??

Use USC with a bit of caution. The machine can (and will) damage items finish. As I use mine to clean my airbrushes, i wound up coating my basket in rubber dip. I have a larger one, as I use it to clean firearms, as well. Airbrushes, firearms, jewelry (my glasses) I use it to strip paint off of my miniatures when I goof up, or want to change the paint job.

Well, I commented on yesterday‘s video but you had to take it down. So here I am to comment again. What are things I appreciate about your reviews is that you want to make sure if you review something we can actually get them and that is something that not everyone takes into consideration so again thank you. Be well be you

I have the original one you featured a year or so ago. I somehow popped the heating element, but I just add boiling water to my mix and can get through my airbrush cleaning. I never thought about using it for model parts. It's going to get more use now. Just won't use boiling water, but water water for the model parts. Learning a lot watching you Robert! Keep up the great work. 👍

Very nice video. Personally I never about an ultrasonic clean. Clean my kits with alcohol and airbrushs with water and acetone, got that from one your earlier videos. But my wife collects jewelry (antique costume jewelry). And the little would make a nice mother's day gift. Scoring some points here. Anyway Robert very nice video.

I have an ultrasonic cleaner that I have used for 46 years. As a draftsman, in the old days we used them for cleaning our technical drawing pens that went down to 6/0, ultra fine points. Mine is still running strong and I mainly use it for cleaning my fountain pens (another expensive addicting hobby). Any ways if any of you guys are looking to get this purchase cleared by the wife, ultrasonic cleaners do great on jewelry and you can tell her you will clean her rings, earrings bracelets whenever she wants 😂 and now I can’t believe I will be cleaning spoons with it 🤪 what will my dog think of me now 🤭

Am I right in thinking that the handles on the basket would be able to latch over the sides of the tank to elevate it when you're transferring parts in and out? They seem to be shaped particularly well for that.

You also don't want to put anything flammable in them because the ultrasonic oscillation causes cavitation which can cause it to flashover.

Any advice on how to use it to clean paintbrushes? Seems like it would be perfect to deep clean some sable brushes, but (aside from a single video) all I could find was for big brushes like for house painting. Perfectly timed video, I’ve been meaning to give my cleaner a try and overcomplicate things

It will clean brushed no problem at all. You can submerge them for cleaning. What type of paint will be on the brushes?

@@barbatosrex9473 Mostly just use acrylics, but I didn’t know what I was doing when I started and have a few that got paint loaded up in the ferrule. I was thinking this might be a good option that would be gentler on the brushes overall. Thanks so much for the advice/confirmation. Yet again you’ve been incredibly helpful overall and (more specifically) getting over the anxiety hurdle with trying something new!

For people in the EU check out Vevor. Hey, Rex would have loved to see a aluminium foil test on the little guy. Don't doubt the big one, the sound issue was kind of proof that it actually is what it says. The small ones however seldom seems to do much of anything
@leondong5037

I got the little one overnighted to my house. To answer your question, the small one does break down the aluminum foil a little bit, but only on the edges and it breaks down *very* slowly. Granted, my aluminum foil is like twice the thickness of the dollar store stuff, but I think I'm gonna return it.

A warning for anyone using one of these. If any of the model pieces has that chrome plating on it. It may strip off. A few weeks ago I cleaned up my unpainted PG Strike Rouge and bits and pieces of the struts stripped of, and the massive sword is almost completely stripped off. All I used was some dish washing fluid and a tiny dash of degreaser. So be carefull! Other than that problem they work awesomely.
