Good advice, the best thing about lack of control is... lack of control. it will mean some of your shots will not work, but it will put your mind to hunt those shots that you know will work.

Yeah, it takes a bit to get used to the limitations but once you get them p&s are great. - Nico

The lock focus and focus confirmation light, focus re-compose are good tips. I always try to explain to newcomers that these early 90's P&S's have a primitive auto focus system. They are not like shooting with a smartphone camera. You really need to lock focus. People always blame the camera when their shots are out of focus but it's usually user error.

Exactly, most users havent taken some time to research the limitations of their gear and its really helpful to know what it can or cant do.

I like pns for the lack of control and more focus on composition and light also worth mentioning is dx code hacking for over/under exposure. I hope this video helps more people getting into film. Good job! 😊

Its a good thing to learn but for many new users it might be hard to understand what it means and such. Maybe for a "more tips" with point and shoot cameras.

What camera is that & do you recommend it? If so, what are your fave film stocks to shoot on it?

Thanks for the great video! I have a question: when does the camera actually take a shot - when I press the button and it clicks, or when I release it and hear the sound of the film? For example, if I press the button and hold it for a couple of seconds, what will be my shot? When it clicked or when I finally released the button? Thanks

The first click! Most point & shoots have a dual-stage shutter. Pressing halfway will (normally) cause the autofocus to kick in, then the full press will take the photo. It'll wait until you fully press the button to take the photo. If your camera waits until you release the shutter button (after fully pressing it and taking a photo) before making a second noise, that just means it's waiting to advance the film to the next frame. Hope that helps! - Connor

How do you view the photos and transfer them to a computer?
@Kamerastore4 ай бұрын
Hey Jonah! If you leave the finished roll with a lab, they can process the film and give you both the negatives and digital files. They'll use a digital scanner to scan the negatives and convert them to look correct. (-: You can also do it yourself with a home scanning setup, with something like our VALOI line of scanners! - Connor

at 0:15 why are you checking the back?
@Kamerastore11 ай бұрын
Just for the sake of the shot, nothing too serious. (-: The camera I'm using here does have an LCD on the back with the frame counter, date back, etc. though so it's good to keep that info in your head as you shoot! Thanks for watching. - Connor

One other tip for these cameras: turn the date imprint off xD
@Kamerastore Жыл бұрын
We did it for fun, but yeah, you can turn it off.
@aromaticsnail Жыл бұрын
@@Kamerastore i kind of thought that as well considering the actual dates xD Imo it gave a bit more authenticity to how P&S film cameras worked

Its always good to own a good old PS than these total plastic nonsense these days are coming out. Most of them with a slow f9 plastic lens which screams for bright sunny day.

So many good point and shoots still available at even lower prices than some of the "new" stuff.
