Wondering why you didn’t flatten the back.
@dooneydaughtersАй бұрын
I didn't need to for what I was doing as it shrinks a bit when drying, but you definitely can :)

Mine keeps breaking it dosent want to stay solid even after hours

Hi Alice, that's a shame! Does it break after you've glued it on? If you're having problems with your air-dry clay, I would recommend getting in touch with who you bought it from as they should be able to trouble shoot it with you. Hope that helps! Dooney & Daughters

what brand of clay do you use? I have tried a couple of different ones and they stick to the moulds. Any suggestions?

We like using the Darwi Air Dry Clay, although it's a bit hard to get at the moment! If you remove it from the mould pretty soon after pushing it in (i.e. don't let it dry), it doesn't stick. Hope that helps :)

I am new to using clay in these molds..and I use DAS air dry.. doesn't matter what color if you're painting the clay..but I followed a suggestion on one of these tutorials that said pop the mold with the clay in the toaster oven @ 250 ..you literally only need about 3-5 mins ..take it out let cool to room temp and those pieces pop right out no problem! I love this way, because I was having problems getting my clay out of the molds, this works so well, and also keeps the clay at perfect texture so you can still add it to anything your using ex: glass jar ..and can apply slight pressure without flattening the print..the clay is still soft to fit in place but hard enough to press....it's perfect!

@@tinykeyholeminis Hi - if you bake it a couple of min's like that, do you get cracking?
@tinykeyholeminis2 жыл бұрын
@@InquiringMindsKnow I've experienced cracking on some and no cracking on others and I don't think it has to do with the oven technique..I feel like it has to do with how moist your clay is, always have wipes and some water to avoid drying clay, you wrap the amount of clay in the wipe while you are working on a mold and keeps your clay portion super moist because this clay dries so quick while I'm working..hope this helps!

how long to you let the clay set in the tray before removing it
@nicoletteborich16383 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary - thanks for your question. Leave it for about 5-10 minutes, don't let it dry so it is flexible so you can still get it out. Have a bit of a play with it and see what works best for you.

How do you keep them from cracking?
@dooneydaughters3 жыл бұрын
@@patriciagiles5833 sorry just saw this! The Air Dry clay does tend to crack a bit so is better for a more rustic finish. You could try resin for a more perfect moulding. Hope that helps :)
