@@laibaaziz5901 Hi, my curls range from 3A to 3C, and while I have a ton of hair, the texture is very fine. It's also very low porosity. I can't put oils in it, or it gets weighed down. I do use Shea Moisture conditioners and shampoos for the moisture aspect, and if I go through a period of time where I moisturize it too much due to its texture, I use rice water to help with strength, because it will split and break easily after a certain length without.

Just wondering, maybe hair types might have to do with it? BOTH of you - what kind of hair do you have? Like, super thick and kinky like a black person typically has, or thin and straight to wavy, like for a white person? I have definitely heard that a lot of things vary between those hair types - for example, if a white person wears protective hairstyles like box braids too much, their hair will fall out because it's not meant for their hair.

Smells GOOD??? When I’ve bought fermented rice water, I wouldn’t say it smells good at all! Earthy in a way, ok. But not in a GOOD way. In a FERMENTED way. Like other fermented foods: Kim chi, pickles, beer (think old beer esp yick), sauerkraut. Not exactly the smell I want perfuming my person (though yes the smell rinses off).

For those who need this. Wash your hair first. Then soak your hair in the rice water and let it dry in. Adding orange pills is a good idea for the smell and because of the vitamins within the pills (however minute in this quantity). I personally recommend a light mixture of tea tree oil, peppermint oil, castor oil, and extra virgin olive oil. To add to your hair/scalp care routine. Also cut down as much as you can on shampoo and conditioner as these strip your hair, leave your scalp dry, and add unnecessary chemicals/alcohols etc. I personally have completely given up shampoo and conditioner in place of washing my hair every week or two with a simple tallow balm soap. Same for washing my face/beard.

You want to make it even better. Go ahead and put in half and you're going to make this with that as well.. I love this and will use it all week.. 6 cups of water bring it to a boil. Once it reaches a boil shut it off. Put six large sprigs of rosemary. Put the lid on leave it on go to bed. In the morning put that in a spray bottle. Everyone vitamin E helps bring blood to the surface of the skin It also helps the hair follicle.. peppermint oil specifically very good. I just use one drop that's all I need.. You can put that in your rosemary wash. You can use the rice at the end of your day and the Rosemary in the beginning. Or vice versa... Anything to help me wake up. And just that little bit of peppermint oil feels so cooling and nice on your head..

Don't *overuse* rice water on your hair however, especially if you tend to have a hair type prone to drying out. It technically at the base of its ingredients is starch, citric acid and any added essential oils. This could further dry out your hair, while also causing buildup or irritation if you're sensitive to essential oils or even things that are acidic in nature. Be sure to conduct further research into your specific hair type and what's most beneficial for its health. Too much of anything has potential to become a bad thing.

Yes, 100% right! In my comment I pointed out the importance of understanding that rice is a protein and if your hair doesn't need much protein, you are walking into a World of problems because, like you said, it is a hair strengthens the hair, so too much of this rice water can be detrimental! It can snap and break your hair like a twig! It's reccomended to use it just once or twice a month, but if your hair really needs it, once every two weeks. I once used protein in my hair without any true understanding of how to use it and my hair literally fried to chrisp!! In horror 😱 All I saw was my hair crumbling to the floor! And the sound was horrible, it was like listening to someone eating a bag of Chips/Chrisps! 🥠

No you’re supposed to wash off the rice until the water is clear then you’re supposed to put the rice with some fresh water in the mason jar put some orange peels in there and let it ferment for a week this is how you make rice water the correct way or another alternative is you can actually go ahead and cook the rice and then right before the water starts boiling out you would catch some of the water and you could also use it that way.

No rice or oils or anything else you put on your hair/scalp will make your hair grow faster. The speed at which your hair grows is determined by your overall health, biology and your genetics. If you use something and notice a difference its most likely because it’s moisturizing your hair and reducing breakage. A change in your diet could also increase hair growth but that’s only if you were lacking in vitamins before. It’s science.

Massage your scalp with organic cold pressed castor oil before every hair wash. If you wash your hair everyday( try to wash it less, even every other day is ok, but if you can just wash your hair 1-2 times a week that will help) then just do this 2 times a week. Brush your hair very well to get the natural oils dispersed throughout your hair and start the stimulation of the scalp. Add your castor oil to your scalp and start massaging it into the scalp. Turn your head upside down and continue for 10 minutes. Raise your head back up and massage all over for another 5 to 10 minutes. Distribute what's left on your hands and hair down the rest of your length. Add your favorite natural cold pressed hair oil to your ends and add a shower cap and bonnet or hair scarf. Wait anywhere from 1 hr - overnight, then wash your hair twice as usual, Cleanse the scalp very well. Follow with your conditioner and hair mask, while avoiding your scalp and first few inches of hair. Let it do it's thing while you finsh up showering. Then rinse with cool water. Oiling, massage, not washing hair every day, [daily brushing to stimulate scalp:distribute the natural oils:remove any pollutants from the day], and shampooing with scalp focus, conditioning with hair focus. This will all keep your hair thick or help it to regain thickness and length. Hair Skin Nails vitamins are good. A daily multivitamin Biotin and silica can also be good for not only hair, but nails & skin. Hydrate with water

@@palestar828 Hi, just gonna be annoying for a sec;;; Wasting food (or, y'know, stuff in general) is a really really bad idea, I believe... If you don't like eating rice, I mean, you can maybe find another way to use it? Like, maybe as a phone emergency kit once it dries out, or you can stuff a plushie with it, or you can make some sort of craft, or maybe a noisemaker, idk... Just, do whatever, as long as you're not exactly putting it to waste;;; ALSO, if you want to cook it, first off, while I don't know much about this, I'm pretty sure that you have to add the water back, so it has enough for cooking, at least. Just assuming from what little I know; I mean, ramen is disgustingly dry without enough water, so anything else boiled might work the same, right? Probably not. But, moving on lol. There's so many different recipes! You don't have to just force white rice down your throat! If you add a lot to the rice, you can maybe make yellow rice for tacos, or you can add some stuff to make sushi... (for sushi, you will need other specific materials though! Also, it does get kind of tedious;;; but, just a few rolls can fill you up! Compacting food just gets so surprising to me...) probably more stuff I can't think of. Hell, if you just wanna throw some random stuff together, you can toss it in as an extra ingredient in a stew or stir fry or whatever else is made out of laziness lol.

I don’t follow her instructions but I do rice water in my hair for 4 years. I don’t usually do short hair before because my hair just wave or fly away look (I don’t know hiw to translate it into english) and it causes my split ends up but when I start rice water, I can now totally rock the short hair look cause it makes my hair healthier and it prevents me from split ends. I still have the slightly some curly hair but the important thing is I don’t get split ends anymore. All I do is wash the rice I’m about to eat and remove those water that you use to clean the rice and you can store it in the fridge for the last rinse after you conditioner or just use it right away if you don’t want cold rice water. I use it everyday before, but you can use it whenever you’ll eat rice so the rice wouldn’t go to trash

Essential oils work just as well. I mix fresh herbs when I can or oils when I don't. Mix them with avocado oil as a carrier. Put on at night for a few days. Keep it in the fridge. It's good for a week when using fresh herbs. Longer if using essential oils.

I don't know if it was the "rice water" that was claimed or if it was chemicals, but I used a spray on my long curly hair that was feeling a little dry, and the spray ruined it. My hair stuck together like glue and turned into knots, I had to cut all of my hair off.
@Mossfaerie
@Mossfaerie Жыл бұрын
Theres no reason to have to cut it off. Some warm water and hair conditioner would have easily fixed the knotting and removed the starch.

I do mine differently! I get rice and cover with water. I smoosh it around with my fingers to stir if you will, and cover with plastic wrap. I leave in a warm room and after 2 days its fermented!! I seperate the rice from the water Throw out rice and keep water. It can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. I wash my hair with shampoo and rinse. Then i soak my scalp in the bowel with the warmed up fermented rice water and I massage my scalp over the large bowel or container so i don’t waste any of the rice water for 5/10 minutes. I leave the rice water on my scalp, i don’t wash it off at all!! This process helped me to grow my hair over 4 inches in just a few weeks!! I was amazed 😮 Now a few years on, im going to start this process again because I have hair thinning 😢 and im a woman . Will help with hair loss!! Im confident of this!! When I was doing this for length, i noticed new hair growth also!! So im confident that it will help my hair to thicken out again!!

This depends on the hair type but generally rosemary water does the same thing. Also, using rice water too often can cause protein overload on your hair which can damage your hair very badly. I just make some rosemary water by adding water and some sprigs of rosemary (you can also add ginger) to a pot and boil for about 20 min or until the water changes colour. Put this in a spray bottle and pray on your scalp every day. Massage it into your scalp and then just let it dry. You don't wash it out or anything after and it doesn't leave any scent. This works really well for me. Do your research guys!

You aren't supposed to heat it as it kills the good stuff that's good for your hair. You ferment the water with the citrus peels for about 3 days to a week I don't make this very often anymore because I found a protein treatment that's amazing . But I wash the rice, I blend it in water , leave to ferment with the peels for 3 days.

It's not really fermenting because you destroy the yeast when you heat it on the stove. So there is no need to just let it sit for three days

Probably is bad but I just use the rice water plain. Like no boil, I just pour it directly on my hair before washing or leave it in my shampoo. This is not cap, it works, I've been doing this since I was 17. I'm 24 now, this helps your hair grow super fast (idk about thickening though). You will see it within the week

@savannahhalm

This trend was taken from Asian culture. There is a village in Asia and their women are known for using rice water. Their hair is super long and straight. The natural hair community saw the videos and decided to try it. I think people with course hair shouldn’t do this trend bc their hair is different from straight Asian hair. But it is basically just a protein treatment. Nevertheless, it tends to add too much protein depending on the porosity of the hair.

as much as I'm not the most eligible to speak up for y'all as I'm Asian, I think it's a method that works better for Asian hair specifically (out of all races, i believe). It works alright on me, and my hair is pretty thin and pin straight, but it helps my hair grow real fast.
@thedarknessofnana
@thedarknessofnana Жыл бұрын
@@worstusernameintheworld9871 That’s actually not true! I have kinky coily hair and use rice water, and it works great. What people need to realize is that _low porosity hair_ is sensitive to protein (because it takes awhile for water and products to absorb into your hair. You can tell you have low porosity hair because water just kind of sit on top of the hair strands in little beads at first rinse). Low porosity hair has mostly closed hair strand pores, thus it retains its hydration well, but it can be hard to get it to absorb anything without washing it squeaky clean first. Because of this, low porosity hair is also is prone to product build up, so protein treatments too often are _the worst_ for it. A lot of natural girlies didn’t know their porosity type yet, and it turns out a lot more coily and curly girls had medium and low porosity hair than they thought. Fyi, high porosity hair absorbs water like a sponge, then dries fast (in fast, out fast) because the pores on the hair strands are blown open. Often times, people who dye and/bleach their hair have high porosity hair (hair porosity can change depending on how it’s maintained; the roots are generally lower porosity than the ends, since the ends are older). Rice water works _great_ on high porosity hair, as the protein acts like a shield to some of those pores, which allows the hair to trap some water for awhile and resist dryness. My hair is low porosity, but I have freeform locs and only use shampoo (no condition or any cream products. Only shampoo, then coconut oil after the shower). I can get away with doing a rice water treatment 1x to 2x a month without getting build up because of my zero-build-up regimen. Loc build up is horrible for locs as they get longer, because heavier locs = traction alopecia and locs falling out at 5 years+ loc’d). So, yeah! Now you know. 😄 I learned all this from The Green Beauty’s channel. She’s a scientist and a black woman with long, loose natural hair who has many videos explaining the science behind natural hair, and she did a few videos on rice water and what it does scientifically for the hair a couple years back.
