Great tutorial! I have loved fonts since I started digital scrapbooking about eight years ago, but I had no idea this was possible. I bought this font, downloaded BabelMap and did a practice run in Design Space. It was so easy. Thank you so much!

Great tutorial! I leaned about the BabelMat and prefer it instead of using the Character Mat because of being able to see the font characters larger. I use Design Space and they work great together. Thanks for doing this tutorial about that.

Was a great, slow video that was super easy to follow. Only thing that I had a little trouble with was the Babel software. Wasn't sure if I downloaded it right at first and my computer makes its really blurry for some reason. But I can see why you like that one better then the other one. I was also a little scared of the font at first. I follow some groups on Facebook and people are always worried on which on to buy and how to use the font. But I'm glad that I found this video so thank you again for taking the time to post the video!!! Now the fun part begins. Time to play and create!!

I am beyond thrilled! I have had the Samantha font for quite some time but had only used the font in Design Space with the regular characters. I have been wanting to learn to use the fancy letters. Absolutely awesome tutorial! Best video ever on how to use the Samantha Font (with all the flourishes & extra files), plus the Character Map & the much better, Babel Map (Which I had never heard of until just now). You can actually tell what you're doing with the Babel Map! I've wanted the Samantha font for a long, long time but never bought it because I knew there were extra steps you had to take to get the swirls & flourishes & I had no idea of what those extra steps would be. But, I'm buying it now. Thanks for helping me, as well as, so many other people with this beautiful font!

Good video, thank you for sharing. The little characters above letters are called diacritics. Other languages use them. In my native language the diacritics change the sound of the letter and usually the meaning of the whole word.

Your information was very helpful and easy to understand. Your voice is pleasant and easy to understand. Could you do a video tutorial on using Samantha font in Inkscape and then importing to design space. Oh, one little tip. Make yourself an outline to follow each step in order. It would make your tutorial flow a lot better.

Wonderful tutorial! You stated when moving the letters closer together that you use a key on the keyboard, which key do you use as I am sure is easier than dragging. Sometimes I drag it incorrectly this way it would go straight over.

I use Magnolia Sky instead of Samantha for the limited personal use I use it for there wasn't a reason to purchase Samantha but I never used any of the florishes for any of my fonts.... I wasn't even sure where there were or how to find them! Thanks for this video!

ok so here is my question. great tutorial by the way. really helped. When i am scrolling through my fonts on the BabelMap, it ALWAYS changes under SELECT UNICODE BLOCK (where its supposed to say PRIVATE USE AREA) when i scroll to a different letter with the arrows, that section that says PRIVATE USE changes all the time. how do i keep it from changing>???

Best tutorial on Samantha font I've seen! Followed along with no issues.... until in BabelMap. When I click on the letter that I want, nothing happens. It does not pull it into the box so I can hi-light and copy. I've tried everything I can think of, Any ideas?
