Really nice, thank you. I was wondering how I would use my sew on interfacing, as I want to avoid the glue type.

I found this really cute faded navy blue with watermelon lemon and pineapple fabric when I was at Joan’s and wanted to make a super cute tote bag with it. But it is cotton and kinda thing for a tote bag, and I’m going to use interfacing I bought!

Sewing has changed so much since I started to sewing. I was wondering if you could show us how to make Travel doctor's bag? Also thank you very much for showing the Tulip Sleeve. It was very easy to understand. My friends hospital uniform looks like one of a kind. Have a good weekend to come

Very helpful, thank you. I prefer to use fabrics and notions that are biodegradable, so sew-in interfacing is my preference.

Great video. If your fabric pieces have markings to be transferred should they be transferred to the interfacing as well? Also, when basting lightweight sew-in interfacing to crepe fabric, how can I correct the "puckering" or "gathering" that is occurring from my basting stitches?

I’m trying to make a fabric hand fan. Should I use interface or would that not create pleats?
@ProfessorPincushion

it depends on the fabric but you're probably going to need interfacing to give it some structure

What sort of interfacing would you suggest if I wanted maintain tucks and pleats in flimsy fabric?
@ProfessorPincushion
@ProfessorPincushion 7 жыл бұрын
for pleats, like in a skirt, you really want to use the right fabric, like a cotton or broadcloth that's going to maintain a good press. I haven't seen any skirts that has interfacing on the wrong side so it might look odd and then you'd have to fusible interfacing because otherwise the interfacing and skirt will just constantly separate where they're not stitch together and kind of defeat the purpose. For flimsy fabric, you should choose a pattern that's flowy. Each fabric has its own personality and you should go with it's strengths :)

Could I use this sew-in method to interface a coat - not just the collar, but also the chest area and shoulders and such - or do I need to it with pad stitching, like in bespoke tailoring? Thanks in advance :)

I think for a coat, you might want to consider interlining instead of interfacing

could you possibly cover fusible interfacing? Because I certainly made a big mistake on that one last month and fusible interfacing it does matter which side you use. But I think that would be helpful for all of us. 😊😊

I didn't know about all these interfacing fabrics till this pandemic, I use the interface to sew into face masks...non woven., I iron on and sew in between two pieces 100% cotton...after washing and putting in the dryer, they interface stays in place.

I wasn't a huge fan of (fusible) interfacing, because it always brings a garment to that point where its too bubbly to be unwearable, but in otherwise too good condition to feel good throwing out. This should help a lot
