4 жыл бұрынA friend was told she doesn't have Tesla Autopark on her Model X, learn how to tell if you have the Autopark feature on your Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, or Model Y and how to use it.
All Model X, 3, and Y ship with the hardware needed to do this, all Model S built after late 2014 do too, you do need Autopilot Convenience (AP1) or Enhanced Autopilot (EAP on AP HW 2.0 or FSD Computer), or Full Self Driving option (FSD)

Agreed, hopefully they bring the cameras into it soon and still fix it for the AP1 cars. Right now the only harder feature to use is getting Smart Summon to work correctly.

Hello Kacey, I have a 2017 S with Enhanced Autopilot, however I cannot find any settings to use auto parking. Summon is on and working however I see nothing for auto parking. Can you advise if there is a chance I may not have it in my vehicle or how I can activate it please?

This is correct, there are no settings for Autopark, but if your car will do any level of summon it will be able to Autopark. The difficult part will be finding a space the car likes. It needs two solid objects on each side of where you want to park, preferably cars, but a curb will work if it is high enough for the sensors to pick it up. This goes for both typical perpendicular parking and parallel parking. What I didn't show were the 8 times I tried to get the parallel parking to work correctly and I don't remember if I showed where it was trying to park on the off-ramp. The little gray P on the small screen is very non-descript, on the main screen if you have the parking screen up (the little cone and sensor waves of the camera app) it'll have a gray start button until you've stopped moving then it will turn blue, it also will show a preview of the spot it will try to park in. (That way you can avoid it trying to perpendicular park in an inappropriate spot) Let me know if that helps or if I need to make a follow-up video 😊

Yeah, june delivery of 2023 model Y and HDW 4 and no auto park, and no setting to customize summon, in fact the nothing like this and I pay $200 for the FSD. In fact before 5 weeks ago, we did not even FSD when subscribing to it we only had navigate on Autopilot. Now at least we got his. But no sign of auto park or summon.

Yeah the sensor-free cars got a raw deal, allegedly in an update soon they'll fix the new Model X front doors to work like mine, that should include many of these missing features for your Model Y

Yes, but depending on what it was ordered with this may not present itself, and if it was ordered with Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self Driving it should be there, but now likely vision based if it has MCU2 probably still exactly like this video if it has MCU1.

If yours has the 8 cameras all around the car they've moved it to the FSD package unless you had the car while it was in other options (like when Enhanced Autopilot was a thing)

I don’t have the “P” on my screen that I can tap when driving by parking spots, nor can I double tap the P for parking…😟

@@arizonamediaservice7444 you should be good to go, this day shown here had a particularly picky version of the software, I hear a few of the current versions are also this choosy. You'll need to go slowly by the space I usually do 15 mph or less and it needs two detectable hard surfaces to even try, it also prefers a back too like another car or curb

They've just started rolling out vision based autopark. It works like this but since it's reading the lines it works in more places, can't wait to see that system develop! It also doesn't require two cars anymore either.

Can you help me? My S was manufactured, March 2015. It is a P85D and was sold with every available option. It has the lates software installed. When was the earliest this was available and on what month/year Tesla? I can not get my car (Auto Pilot 1.0) to do any auto parking.

Fall of 2014, I think before 2016 there was one more package to get the convenience features, my AP1 car had everything the hardware supported turned on, I'll look up the Monroney to see if I can decipher it

I'd say if your car navigates on the highway in it's lane and changes lanes if the settings are set and you signal, gives you distance to contact for each sensor (not covered with wrap or PPF, or broken) then your car is being even more choosy than mine did here in this video. I did my first vision parallel autopark today, while vision perpendicular park is just like you see here but less picky, vision parallel park for my first try nearly curbed the wheel and took two motions to get into the space and out of the flow of traffic while the blind one like your car and mine in the video would have only needed one motion to clear traffic.

@@benkanobe7500 neither of mine mentioned parking in the menus just on the website, I think yours has it. You'll need something hard and curb height backing the spot like a car your car likes, a parking stop, or curb, then you'll need a car or something taller than a curb (like a door denting curb or low wall) on both sides for it to trigger reliably

On the new cars you do. If your car has AP1 (activated), Enhanced Autopilot, or FSD you can use autopark in appropriate scenarios assuming all sensors are functioning and the car isn't damaged in any way that will cause it to abort.

Great question, today there is a minor risk since it is parking blind, using only the ultrasonic sensors. So I look at the spot it picked for obstacles that won't show to the sensors, like branches, ultra-low curbs or things the car can fall into like storm drains, so far so good. I'm hoping they turn on the cameras for parking sometime this year, that will be a game changer.

At the moment this is not supported, coming soon is Smart auto park which is the opposite of Smart Summon. Today there is touchless classic Summon, I'll make a video on that probably today.

I can't believe that it has been 2 months since you posted this video and I haven't tried Autopark yet. I promise you that I will and I do keep thinking of doing a video of our attempt for TesLUCKY. Hopefully soon. Can you use Autopark to back into a supercharger space???

I've used it at a handful of Superchargers yes. Just need to meed the parameters, cars on both sides or a high enough curb etc to set the system off. If the other surface isn't a car pay extra attention in case it loses track. If both surfaces are cars it will get uncomfortably close just keep your foot near the brake, which will pause the operation.

As you can see from the thumbnail I've become much more comfortable with it, but to this day it's something that makes me nervous, two days ago I was getting the mail and it got so close to a car the stop almost replaced the distance on the screens.

@@KaceyGreen the car failed to execute on 4-5 attempts, but you didn't give up, you didn't even get frustrated. at all. you just kept charging on. on my team there are devs, qa's, pmo, ba's, couple full stacks etc., about 30 people, and the only ones who never get angry and just keep calmly trudging on until their objective is met... the devs, never even raise their voice. their only real requirement is alienware shit and a fridge of diet beverages. - i seriously would have started cracking an insulting joke about the tesla which would have reflected my inner frustration with the price tag and it not immediately recognizing the parking space for said price. i have done so on many ocassions with the model x. the other day i shut the door and the chrome handle cover just fell off. expletives rained down from the sky. - this is my deduction that you could be in IT and do dev work, based on your persistency and calm behavior traits.

You get a feel for what it likes eventually but I'm waiting for them to turn on the cameras for the parking system, if it could see them instead trying to feel them with the ultrasonic sensors it would be an ace parker, I also think it would move faster and be able to handle more spaces in one motion than either a human or this version.

Negative, it took 5 min trying to demonstrate, it takes roughly 60 seconds on the long side and as short as 15 if everything is perfect, I suspect when they actually turn on the darned cameras instead of pretending the car is a bat using echolocation it'll be human-like in speed and ability (I'm basing this on how it's been driving on the road lately). The original autopilot only had one camera facing forward, the one facing rearward fed into the screen but not the autopilot computer. This was where Autopark was designed and it hasn't been touched much since 2015, the Full Self-Driving computer has 8 to 9 cameras so using them would give 2 different autopark programs but newer cars (late 2016 onward) a much more practical system, but they've been hard at work trying to get Full Self-Driving activated so they can get that money released so we continue to wait. I don't blame them it's a significant amount of money.

@@KaceyGreen Having owned a Golf from 2014, they do both. The Golf is actually more reliable and involves less fuss. I was in the city today looking for a spot with my S, and I just could not get it to recognize the huge spot whilst parallel parking. My Beamer X3 from 2016 recognises these easily, whilst the 2019 Tesla struggles. It’s a great car, but they’re very far behind on actually “being a car”.

Though this feature being crummy since 2016 doesn't make it bad at being a car, since all the loud car-bros would say a great car does almost nothing for us automatically, and parking isn't driving around a track or dangerously in traffic.

It's much less choosy now that it is using the cameras to pick the spots and do the maneuvering, however it isn't any faster than when it did it bat-style, hopefully single-stack perception upgrade will make it more than a neat party trick

On the new refreshed Model S it is still just as slow but now it uses the cameras instead of exclusively using the ultrasonic sensors, hopefully future updates both bring it to more models and make it faster. The new system doesn't require two cars or two hard surfaces just lines that look like parking spaces.

I have 2019 model 3 with fsd. Auto park sucks!! Rarely available, I tested a few times when I first bought the car. Now I never use it, just a gimmick!

yeah nah. spending that much on a car, and u literally have to do laps around an EMPTY car lot to engage auto park? no thanks. Tesla literally has the worst autopark of ANY car with that feature. even gas powered cars with it.

Yes even when this applied to all cars it was sub-par even when it was new it was bottom of the barrel experience for all makes and models with the feature excluding those that required you to hold a button or work the pedals those were in this same bucket except they found a space faster. This was 2 years ago, now it uses vision and you just get the rear of the car near an open spot, if I haven't already done it I'll make an update video, thank you for the prompting. Now this only applies to the older cars built prior to 2016. The performance is still this slow but if you see a spot the car can finally now see it too, this started working for me earlier this year.

Luna was out while I was sitting there alone, she's often the camera person on these videos and in this case we were running multiple cameras and microphones there wasn't much chance of success in a timely fashion with the equipment we had that day without her work.

@@KaceyGreen Im not tying to troll you, but its cool technology not ready for prime time. And it's not surprising that.people are wondering what the heck is going on with the slow and picky process to accomplish the task of parking. Might be mistaken for a drunk or somehow impaired driver.

I'm hoping they will increase the speed and accuracy soon now that it is vision based. On Model X and S, the multi-maneuvers may be unavoidable because of their incredible footprint vs normal parking aisles but the computer usually does two to four too many motions compared to an experienced driver of these boats.

It hasn't changed much since 2014, works the same as all the other systems for now, I'm waiting for them to turn on the cameras for parking, that's when I expect the performance to increase, I will do new video when that update is released

@@srqTagle I rarely use it because it's slow and if someone impatient comes barreling down on you and you try to interact with the controls it puts on the parking brake

mine usually barely tolerates it, but the other folks in the lot go ballistic. I can't wait until it is fast and reliable enough to use most trips vs now waiting for a perfect lot and for it to be free of nearly all traffic (foot and wheeled)
