Hello Joshua, the hybrid three will adopt the tempo of your DAW Settings.. When I open it in standalone mode I cannot seem to find any way to change the tempo. I’ve looked and looked myself. Maybe someone will tell us! So the only way to control the tempo that I know of is to open it as a plug-in in your DAW. Thanks so much for watching the video!

@@ProducerDan I just noticed something weird. When I load the Soft Pads - Simple Giant pad, the oscillators behave strangely. I can turn the level controls to zero, and it will still sound, on osc 3 the level is set to zero, yet when I change the octave, I can hear the difference. Really odd... What am I missing?!

I haven’t used Garage Band in a while, but if it lets you insert plugins then it probably uses AU format plugins (like Logic I believe) so make sure you have the correct plugin format. Thanks for watching the video!

Hello. Hmmmm I have not had this problem before. I believe each side, A and B, has their own separate presets list at the top. Make sure you’ve selected A or B at the bottom when making your selections in presets. That should work for you. Thanks for watching the video :-) take care

​@@ProducerDan I was surprised that someone would review Hybrid 3, because everyone and their cat are into Massive X, Serum, Hive, Pigments, Dune, ANA 2,(Waldorf's Largo, Nave have out-dated not to polished GUI IMHO, but still powerful software synthesizers because Waldorf have experience with wavetable synthesis) etc. as some of the most popular Wavetable based soft synths out there for a good reason. People tend to underestimate and look away from VSTs like Hybrid 3 because it comes with various hardware controllers like toys from cereal box so they get impression it is not that good. But less is more in terms of VSTs you own. Knowledgeable sound designer could get any sound they want with just one or two high quality VSTs, like Diva and Pigments 2, they would cover all the bases you need. But I, like many others start to buy on discount various VSTs and consequently I am overwhelmed with choices. Anyway, Hybrid 3 is nice starting soft synth especially for those into dance music, but there are other much better soft synths out there. The biggest con is, AIM music Technology uses terrible iLok protection. Softube also uses it, but I could tolerate it because of excellent Model 84 VST. Cheers.

I never found a way to adjust tempo in stand alone mode but when you play it in you DAW it should take the tempo of your DAW

Make sure that you have the correct version on the plugin for your DAW. I have the VST version but it is not compatible with ProTools which uses AAX plugins. I had to bye a “wrapper” plugin in called Metaplugin by DDMF to use it in ProTools. Or find out which version of plugins are supported by you DAW and redownload the right version of Hybrid if you can. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching the video ‼️

@@ProducerDan HI Dan, thank you a lot for the explanation, you'll have to forgive me for any stupid questions though. This is my first run using recording software and plugins. I have Mixcraft 10, and from what I can tell it uses VST, but how do I know if the Hybrid is VST or not? When i got the Line 6 helix native, it just automatically showed up in mixcraft, so i was just assuming all plugins did that. again, my dearest apologies for so many questions and if they come off silly,.

@@ProducerDan I downloaded the demo version of Hybrid from the AIR website (which included the AAX) version. However It seems that the licence I got from M-Audio when I bought my Oxygen Pro still lets me run the full version, even as an AAX in Pro Tools. Might be a handy workaround without having to use a wrapper (although having a wrapper is a good thing for the many other plugins where no AAX version exists)

I think you need a midi controller keyboard to use it.

Managed to get mine running on the latest MacBook Air, though when I use it within Ableton / GarageBand the dropdowns don't work, making it basically useless...

@@acfgcnbjh thank you for your reply! i couldn't set it up at all. it does not show on my vst folder when i download it. i activated it through ilok and all but it was not there :D

@@nilabiska Is it in your /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder? If so, check your Ableton Plug-Ins settings, basically try checking everything especially Audio Units v2, then see if anything pops up in the Plug-Ins category :)

Just curious, did it come bundled with one of your DAWs or did you purchase it separately? If so, make sure you downloaded the correct format, like AAX, AU, or VST.

@@ProducerDan For me, it came bundled with my Midi keyboard (M-Audio Oxygen MKV). Downloaded it trough their software, it didn't specify but I believe it's in VST format. I'll check if it's possible to download in other formats, or trough Hybrid's own website. The strange part is how it works perfectly when ran from the desktop but once it's in a DAW the menus fail.

Hi Chris, thanks for watching the video! When I use hybrid three in ProTools I adjust the tempo through ProTools. When you use it as a standalone instrument you should be able to control the tempo using your midi keyboard.

@@ProducerDan I find that the tempo key on my Akai MPK Mini is only relevant to the arpeggiators tempo, but does not effect the output of the step sequencer. Or maybe I'm missing something. Any ideas?

I have mine at the top. No need install. They should come already installed I believe.

On the sequencer page in the upper left hand corner is a drop-down menu. I believe you can make choices there and turn the arpeggiator off.

Hello Martin, if you have downloaded hybrid 3 onto your computer and it’s not showing up on your instruments list when choosing an to insert on an instrument track in your DAW, make sure you have installed the correct form of hybrid 3. For example, if you are using logic then you would need the AU form of the plug-in, ProTools uses the AAX version of the plug-in, Ablton would use the VST version of the plug-in. Make sure you download the correct version.

@@ProducerDan hi, thanks for the reply. the only thing i did was download the hybrid 3 virtual instrument from the M-Audio Software Manager after purchasing one of their MIDI controllers, so i'm not sure how i could've chosen an option to download a VST form?

That is what happened to me. I got my hybrid three from the M audio software manager too and I couldn’t play the version that they gave me in my ProTools, so I needed to purchase a “wrapper “plug-in to play VST and AU plug-ins in ProTools. I Purchased the Metaplugin to be able to play VST and AU plug-ins in ProTools. Find out which version you have and what kind of plug-ins are compatible with your DAW and if it’s not compatible with your DAW then look into purchasing a “wrapper “plug-in like the Metaplugin.

Hello Corey, I don’t see any way to record on this virtual instrument. You’ll have to use a DAW. Just open it in an instrument track. That’s the only way I know how to do it. :-) thanks for watching the video!
