Love this tool! I have an older version, no padding on the handles or that cool turquoise top, but it still works and gets the job done! Thanks for this tutorial! Wishing you the best!

Looks like a great tool. Could be helpful if you friend added a 'locking mechanism' to the 'handle' part so that you could use two hands for working the fabric.

Could you turn the elastic the same way you did the foam rather than turning the fabric first?

Great demonstration. I just have a question. Is it a young people's speech pattern to use the phrase, "go ahead"? I've heard a lot of young people saying that. I just wondered the purpose of "go ahead". I am NOT being critical! I'm curious! "Old Lady D"

what is the narrowest tube you can turn with these? I was thinking they might work for shoelaces.

Does it only work with cotton type material? Because for the life of me I can not get it to work with vinyl.

It doesn’t work. Feeling frustrated! I bought this tool and then I needed to make some skinny straps and it won’t turn over and it poked a hole in the end of the strap because I was gripping it! Tried it on a second strap and it doesn’t work for that either. I wouldn’t have made them this way except I had this “cool tool“! Very disappointed!

I feel the same way trying it with vinyl.

I am so sorry it’s not working for you. In the 90s I must’ve turned 50 pairs of arms on 12 inch dolls. Funky shoes at the ends of the legs etc. etc. we did not have these tools I’m sure you can imagine how tedious that was lol I honestly don’t think this tool with work on vinyl. Being me I would tape a big wad of tape at the end of the tines, and then gently gently work the vinyl the way it suggests. If the vinyl is really narrow it is not going to work. Again when you turn the things you cannot be rough with the fabric call tightly push etc. it will care that you’re working with a very small part. It takes a lot of time and a lot of effort to get it going. Are used to use a broken off pencil so that the edges were rough and could catch the fabric and push it in. So this tool is just delightful. I’m sorry you’re having difficulty I hope this helps

@@auntnatalie I was not rough at all in trying to turn the strap. I was using quilter’s cotton. There wasn’t room to put a wad of tape at the end as they were skinny like spaghetti straps. It’s a good idea for wider things, but if the straps were wider, I might not have had as much trouble, although I think it will always be a problem poking through quilter’s cotton. As I mentioned, if not for having bought this tool, I wd have made the straps differently. I feel the tool was mis-represented. So you’re saying you’ve had success using this tool to turn skinny straps? Maybe you can do a video, and link it here, showing us how to do it correctly? I’d like to be able to use the tool after spending all that money on it. Maybe demo turning spaghetti straps made of quilting cotton? That wd be awesome!!! 🌷
