The drink at the end of the video is a double shot cappuccino. The appearance may change when the drink settles.

Why is the coffee only lukewarm immediately after brewing? It is obviously preheating in the few moments before beginning the brew.

the froth selector knob is so unintuitive. so all the way to the right with the plus sign is for the least amount of froth??

So far I am disappointed with the strength of the coffee. I used the double filter size, filled it with Starbucks fine mocha grounds, lighty tamped it, and tried a double cappuccino. Pleanty of froth, but very, very weak on the coffee side. When I tried to add more expresso to my drink, it came out pretty watery for the amount of coffee used. In my normal coffee maker the amount used would have been too strong for me. I feel like I am wasting coffee with this unit. I will try an Americano next time, the cappuccino is just too weak with no real way to strengthen it.😢

your problem is you’re using flavored grounds, you need to use pure espresso. i recommend cafe bustelo

@erikerikerik4 hold down on the bottom of the machine, and then lift up the milk container little bit, it should then pull right out.

You should make a longer video explaining the froth volume because the way it is displayed is misleading and you end up with a huge mess

Just got one for Xmas ... not working at all. No water is coming out of either reservoir. Making a weird raptor calling noise when we try to make anything. So far disappointed.

At first mine didn't work but then I did everything step by step as shown on the video and it worked. If you don't do the cleaning cycle and place the plastic tanks correctly, it will not work.

Put water in the back and run a cleaning cycle a few times and make sure you have the milk reservoir pushed back all the way it’ll click when it’s in

Okay. To All in the comments section! I think I found something! So, I was very determined to get a cup of espresso this morning. So I spent about an hour trying to figure out why the machine was not dispensing water for first time use priming. I just happened to put some weight/pressure on the espresso water reservoir (while it was in the cleaning mode), kind of pushing/pressing it downward, and boom, there it went. It started to dispense water from the milk reservoir tank for priming. Hope this helps someone.

I put the portafilter in the dishwasher and it came out with this thick black residue on it. I've cleaned it over and over and I still see the black residue on it. That cannot be safe to ingest, can it? Any idea what that black residue even is?

Have a question about cleaning. I have everything set up just like video, it cleaned 1 cycle. Now i have the water & milk reservoirs still full of water minus a double shot. Am i supposed to stand here cleaning, dumping etc, etc till reservoirs r empty?

One clean cycle is enough. If you haven't already, wash and dry each part before first use. Once all parts have been cleaned and the clean cycle is completed, you can start making drinks. if youre talking about the layers of the drink.. theres steamed milk + milk foam + coffee!! the foam is very light so it always stays at the top. the coffee itself also creates a very dark foam which is separate & adds to the layers

The manual says to run a vinegar and water mix through it every month (or other month) depending on the hardness of your water and amount of usage in that time period.

For descaling: Fill the water reservoir with equal parts water and vinegar and run the clean cycle. Run it again with just water. (Do not fill the milk reservoir). See detailed instructions in the GCM4230 user manual on this page here: www.gourmia.com/item.asp?item=10421

As soon as I clicked the "cappuccino" option not even 3 seconds later, the frothing tube just put out a ton of smoke and filled my kitchen with smoke in seconds. The machine then caught on fire in the back and died. Amazing product, will never buy again.
