Finally you can use the LEGO Powered Up remote with all smart LEGO hubs! You can try it with the latest beta release of Pybricks: beta.pybricks.com/

I just started using Pybricks yesterday. I love what it does. I'm currently using Beta with the Projects 4x4 layout for the Remote, to control what is best described as a Porsche 911 Buggy. I'm just learning (again) how to code so I can start customizing the code for adding controls for lights. I love not having to use my phone to take my car for a drive, and the flexibility to make a true custom build.

I just started using pybricks and ab-so-freaking-lutely love it. You don't need to be a coding whiz, the hubs start up so much faster, and the fact that I can use the remote is an absolute game changer. Great work team pybricks!

Great job! It adds a lot more playability to to powered up functions. Is it possible to control lego technic hub with a game pad, e.g. PS4 controller?
@pybricks2 жыл бұрын
The PS4 controller uses an older type of Bluetooth, so that wouldn't work. But it might be possible with newer controllers that support Bluetooth Low Energy.

Hello, can you give me an example code on how to connect and disconnect within the script as you show it in the video at 1:22 ? Is that also possible with 2 technic hubs? Is it possible to do this while beeing disconnected from the pc? I am working on a pybricks code for my MOC of the 42100 Libeherr Excavator set that is using 2 technic hubs with 7 motors. I would like to control it using just one remote...
@pybricks6 ай бұрын
You can make the hubs communicate now, if you like! So you can still use a single remote for multi-hub creations.

Where can i find some example code of combining remote control with autonomous control. With no need for the pc to be contected once program is installed.

Here's one example: pybricks.com/projects/sets/technic/42099-off-roader/powered-up-remote/ There's more if you navigate through the rest of the projects :)

And plain C++ please. Would love to code it Arduino-like, so you can stuff more complex programs. Python is bloatware.

I have done everything described in this video which was very helpful btw, but when I press the button on the hub again it turns red and when I turn the controller on it connects and turns green like it’s supposed to, but then when I press the forward or reverse button on the controller it does nothing and starts flashing blue and I have redownloaded the program fully several times but it still doesn’t work it keeps saying the requested operation is not valid in the current state and to check the traceback and gives errors on code lines 268, 95, and 464. Can someone please help me fix this. Thanks very much.

Pybricks, do you have an idea how to connect phone with 51515 hub by bluetooth but with remote control that works the same way like in this video? Or will you add some kind of pybricks app for android with remote control option?
@pybricks2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we have this working but it is not yet fully released. But if you don't mind following a few extra steps, you can already do this using the instructions on our GitHub support page.
@tykenen41782 жыл бұрын
@Pybricks really this is possible? I mean controlling 51515 hub with pybricks by phone. But how to find that on github? Because now github for me is a little too difficult too grasp.
@pybricks2 жыл бұрын
@@tykenen4178 it's probably best to wait for the next releases. Github is only needed if you really want to use the very latest version. The inventor hub (51515) will be easy to use in our main app in a few months.

Hi there, I have a robot inventor hub but pybricks has never been able to detect it, whether I use bluetooth or cable. Any ideas? Many thanks

You'll want to install the firmware first, via the settings menu.

Does the remote control enable you to turn a motor continuously, without holding the buttons?
@pybricks2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can make it do anything for any button press.
@BrickRidesUK2 жыл бұрын
@@pybricks Thanks 👍 Does it require the app to do that? I’ve been using the Boost Remote 3rd party app, as I haven’t a clue how to use the PoweredUp app, for a simple plug n play. Basically I’m making an amusement ride MOC, that I’m wanting to control with a continuous rotation on one function, and a pendulum/joystick control on the other.
@pybricks2 жыл бұрын
@@BrickRidesUK this video shows how to do it with Pybricks. It works by writing a small Python script. The remote is quite similar to a sensor, so you can write a script that responds to each of the buttons. We have a lot of examples in our app and on our website to help you get started.

Can I use 2 train remotes for controlling all 4 boost hub channels? Please reply. Thanks
@pybricks Жыл бұрын
You could do that with just one remote: You can make each button do whatever you want. You could even use the middle button to switch between functions, for example.
@lovemadeinjapan2 жыл бұрын
Too bad the remote itself sucks. The old ones had 8 steps in each direction. I think we should be able to connect 2 hubs, one as host, one as client, and use pressure sensors on the client to control motors on the host. The pressure sensors have 20 levels, much more usable.
