The HangOver-Pulley is an extremely light-weight and simple to use device to rig slacklines. It is more and more used in highlines.
Find the gear on www.slacktivity.com
Here you can see how to use this system and at the end of the video you find a table with the forces and efficiency listed.

Hi again ! And for example with the 50m pinktube 9:1 , at what hight would you put the line ?

Nice pulley system! To solve the "high stretch problem" with the redtube: You could connect a low stretch webbing to the redtube that comes out of the seahorse and use the low stretch webbing for tensioning.

Hi André, for sure you could find a solution to undergo that problem. But it would kill the simplicity of it. And mostly with nylon webbings it is not necessary to go to really high forces. So specially for highlines there is no need to go to a higher ratio than 9:1. We actually rig most highlines with a 3:1 HangOver Pulley at the moment. Cheers, Sam

Would a beginner highliner be happy rigging feather pro around 40-60 meters with a 3:1 system like youve shown? Thanks

Hi Joe, jep in highlining you are well-served with a 3:1 pulley. In the end the tension of the line is also a matter of taste... But I rig most of my highlines with a 3:1 HangOver Pulley at the moment.

What would you think would be the longest sensible length I could rig a highline with a 3:1 without being overly slack? On mid stretch polyester (white magic). Thanks!

Hey Sam, just wondering if one of the hangovers can be replaced with a regular carabiner for a 5:1 or 9:1 or if there is some consideration for the amount of friction that would create?
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 5 жыл бұрын
You would loose a lot of efficiency! Probably around 30% efficiency-loss. I would not recommend it.

Can you use the hangover pulleys systems with a different weblock like the cat on Slack Land cruiser or a ramlock?
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 5 жыл бұрын
Ramlock does not work. It is based on a different principle. But the other weblocks do work - but some of them are less efficient than the seaHorse. Specially under low forces there can be quite a difference in efficiency between different weblocks.

Hi! Thanks for the video! What different would be in using symmetric carabiners rather than hangover?
@vitmojzis1497
@vitmojzis1497 7 ай бұрын
A carabiner will cause a lot of friction unlike the ball bearings in the hangover. I don't think you'd be able to get enough tention on the line with carabiners. You'd probably get better results with the "primitive method" shown here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g8p0rd1mrZi6gXU.html Also, using 12mm stainless shackles instead of carabiners improves the friction problem (because the pin of the shackle is straight and the line slips on it easier).

Hi There ! What happen if you add a multiplier to the 9:1 system ? Is it efficient ? And thanks for your video by the way !
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 4 жыл бұрын
You could do that. We did try it, but you'll end up with a 27:1 system. With polyester webbings it somehow still works but it's endless pulling for only a few centimeters of progress. With nylon webbings it doesn't work as the stretch of the line will be too big and the pulling doesn't arrive in the weblock. All in all we do not recommend the 27:1

Can you later use the hangovers for tensioning on the highline?
@SlacktivityCh

I would even say that 80% of all highlines are being tensioned with hangovers nowadays... So clearly yes!

Hey Sam, in your sway video (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f5-RdbNq3N-8Ymg.html), would you say that redtube line you rigged could be rigged alone using the 15:1 Hangover setup? Trying to make my dream park setup that can be installed very quickly and preferably solo, but don't have much experience rigging very High-stretch webbings. Thanks!

Is it possible to rig a ~130m marathon play longline with this setup?
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 5 жыл бұрын
No. Above 80m this setup is not ideal anymore unless many people help pulling. But at 130m you are normally better off with a rope pulley.

@SlacktivityCh 7 жыл бұрын
There aren't too many ^^ Definitely a decreased efficiency compared to an efficient rope pulley system (e.g. with a pro traxion as a break).

@@SlacktivityCh Yes, but still, your system can be easier removed from the line, while with the pulley system it's harder. Or am I wrong?
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 5 жыл бұрын
@@VisinskiRadoviBeograd If you use a rope pulley system with a linegrip, it is quite easy to take it out of the system. Only thing you have to do additionally after tensioning is pull the webbing through the weblock. But a rope pulley is definitely heavier.

Could you get by with just the 3:1 system for 100m of MarathonPlay slacklining in the park?
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 6 жыл бұрын
Nope, that's not possible. For 100m lines in the park you are better of with a rope pulley system. In Waterline- or Highline-Circumstances the HangOver Pulley is perfect. Also in parks for shorter distances it's really great. But with a 3:1 HangOver Pulley and a MarathonPlay you'll be limited to about 40m length.
@nickdobbs8574
@nickdobbs8574 6 жыл бұрын
SLACKTIVITY Alright, so, 100m MarathonPlay in the park... would a 15:1 hangover system work or would you need to use a rope pulley system? Also if the hangover 15:1 would work, how high would that make the anchors? I’m just trying to decide my next gear purchase. I’m making the jump from 2”ratchet systems and my 1”primitive system. So trying to get the best bang for the buck for a complete 100m system.
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 6 жыл бұрын
With one person of e.g. 70kg weight pulling and walking you'd need the anchor points on about 3.5m height to be able to rig a 100m line with a HangOver Pulley. So basically you can really say that for that length in the park it is not the best option. If you just wanna walk long lines in a park, go for a rope pulley. If you wanna be versatile with different kinds of line and rather rig lines up to 50m in a park, this system is really great. Also think about, if you wanna rig such long lines in a park and take all gear every time you rig it or if you prefer having something shorter and more playful and less gear to carry. I've just made the experience, that after a while of longlining you get annoyed by all that work and only rig longer lines as midlines/waterlines/highlines. At least this was the case for me and many friends.

SLACKTIVITY what i wanted to ask is, can we use any weblock to make this hangover pulley system? Or it has to be a SeaHorse
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 6 жыл бұрын
Other weblocks can also be used at least for the 3:1 pulley system. The efficiency might be lower though. For systems where the seaHorse has been used as redirector, you can also use a rigging plate or a further anchor point instead with other weblocks.
