I've always been self taught on everything I know about art. I've taught myself on how to think about a process rather than focus on individual techniques, because that's what I view as a better way to learn. But for the longest time, I had struggled to understand texture because the process itself would be buried under the smaller details. I never thought about how value could be a factor in the texture itself, nor did I think about how light could be applied in varying levels of definition. I always thought of the subject of light as something to be noticed in its own right, instead of applying it on a smaller scale, unlike I usually do with other fundamentals. It's because of people like you and Mark Crilley that I've been able to fix that problem, and I'm deeply thankful of the passion you have in order to make these videos in the first place.

Thank you for your comment Jack, I´m glad to know the tutorials are helping you and even more that you are doing a good job on your own. That´s commendable. (I do suggest to learn the basics, as it would make things easier and better, this is knowledge that has been passed o by the Masters). It can make your work even better, with little effort. It gives you a solid ground to create your own things from there :)

'The curious little mouse' I just thought I should share this. I am currently going to college studying art and the entire first semester in one of my classes is dedicated solely to drawing and shading using value. I started classes without any formal training, being only self-taught, but there were some things that I had learned from this channel that helped me alot at the beginning. Thank you very much, Sir, for your tutorials and lessons. I appreciate them alot and I love your channel. Keep creating🙂

"The curious little mouse." I would love to thank for exsisting Leonardo on YouTUbe. I discovered your channel a year ago when I finally decided to study art at my college. found a great professor who taught me well also. Also huge congrats on your book can't wait to add it to my small collection of refrence books. My professor taught me many things like value,not to shade to dark, plus many other useful tips. When school gets in session again since i learn quicker in person I learned i'm gonna take him again for life drawing lv2 which will feature to learn on how to draw folds and clothes on models. :)
