As someone who was planning to pick up the extension of express colours I ask, does it not work over airbrush primer? I use Vallejo airbrush primer to prime as it is very humid here and spray cans do not work, can I not use xpress properly then?

This works more or less well with the white airbrush primer, but the result is even better with a spray. I will create another video demonstrating different application methods for Xpress. :)

Angel yo de imprimación uso siempre o la one shot de mig o la premium airbush color de vallejo pero creo que no son brillantes y no me valen porque me queda rara. En este caso las contrast o las speed paint. ¿Si le metiese un barniz satinado a la imprimación conseguiría el mismo efecto que el bote de spray? Gracias por el video

It was told somewhere on @ that contrast paints in general (whatever the brand) were ruining natural hair brushes and that synthtetic was recommanded. Is that true and have you noticed something similar when using Express color range ? Thx !!

i realy like the xpress colors. i also like the army painter speed paints. and the real great advantage is, the xpress colors and the speed paints are not the same color. they differ slightly and you can use them side by side. 89 speed paints and 59 xpress colors gives you a wide range of 148 different colors to paint with. its a great time to be a miniature painter, i love it.

Speed paint is a high-quality paint brand. Army Painter did an excellent job, and both brands can be mixed seamlessly.

Muy buen video de información. Angel yo siempre doy imprimación mixta spray negro a todo, otra gris cenital con el aero y luego otra capa solo en zonas donde mas luz daria. Una vez echo eso doy la xpress y quedá un resultado genial. Eso que has dicho de darle spray medio mate no habia caido. Al dar las ultimas capas de blanco con el aero no e tenido ese problema de que se repela pero bueno es saberlo. Las Ink y las Xpress que diferencias tienen?

Con esa técnics de la doble imprimacion no tienes ningún problema, funciona perfectamente.👍🏻 Las diferencias entre una Xpres y una tinta es la formulación, la Xpress es mas viscosa, va hacia los huevos y las partes planas las deja con un filtro, las tintas eso no lo hacen. Puedes probar en una hombrera de space marine 😄

Los primers de Vallejo van bien pero el que te va a dejar un resultado excelente es con el spray. Yo he probado muchisimas imprimaciones y a mi me gusta más con el spray :)

Any tips on priming using airbrush? I noticed that I have same effect sometime applying paint over surfaces primed with airbrush as shown here on matt primer. Adding something to the primer can solve this? Or changing the primer is the only way around?

I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. For optimal results, using a spray is the best option. While an airbrush primer can yield good results, it may fall short of excellence. :)

Si usas la técnica de Slap Chop, te funciona perfectamente, date cuenta que al aplicar pincel seco, ya "creas" los volumenes, y despues es solo aplicar Xpress :)

No, the matte primer does not repel XPress. However, if you use an extremely matte primer, the result may not be good. For the best results, I recommend using a spray primer.

El spray de AMMO tambien va bien :) Pero si no tienes la opcion de conseguir algun spray, te recomiendo la doble imprimacion y aplicar la técnica del Slap chop :)

Mi primer contacto con las Xpress (realmente fue con las Contrast, pero bueno) fue con en un video donde imprimaban en negro pero luego aplicaban capas de pincel seco blanco y gris bastante generosas para crear algo de volumen y ya entonces aplicaban el color. Es una mala idea, peor que imprimar en blanco y usar el Xpress directamente? Genial video! :)

Esa técnica funciona con la Xpress, la doble imprimación, primera negra y despues pincel seco de blanco, asi creas volumenes y despues aplicas la Xpress. Otra manera y es la más "correcta", es aplicar imprmación blanca y despues la Xpress. Yo te recomiendo que pruebes las dos maneras y que uses la que más te guste :)

I have found that Xpress colour perform differently than Speedpaints, meaning I can make better glazes with them. What other differences do you find as to where/when to use one over the other?

I absolutely love using X-Press for glazing! It gives me such a smooth and professional finish that's hard to achieve with regular paint. I believe in using products that work best for your own unique painting style :)

Lo ideal cuando veas que te salen burbujas es con el propio pincel explotarlas 😊, asi no te van a quedar esos puntos blanco.

¿Se pueden usar tras una iluminación cenital? He visto que comentas que sobre negro no van a ir bien y claro, la técnica tiene ese degradado de negro a blanco. En el video sale como las usas con el aero en esas situaciones pero ¿se puede hacer ocn pincel? ¿Habría que diluirlas más o hacer más capas? Gracias de anetmano y muy bune video :)

Puedes usarlas con cenital, pero ten en cuenta que en el negro no se van a ver mucho. Solo un poco tintado. Recomiendo usar un cenital con menos contraste, de un gris a blanco, por ejemplo.

Sometimes small bubbles may appear when applying Xpress and can be removed with a brush. :)

Buenísima la clase Ángel. Una pregunta si no te importa. Me han regalado una tinta blanca (la de AK interactive concretamente por si la marca supone diferencia). ¿Funcionarían bien las Xpress sobre la tinta aplicada a aerógrafo? Ya que la tengo quiero gastarla. Gracias.

La tinta no es una imprimación, asi que muy bien no te va a funcionar. Si quieres usarla, haz una doble imprimacion, primero negra y despues la tinta blanca de AK, y por ultimo aplica la Xpress con el aerografo. Mirate este video :) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j9eZhK590tPPnKs.html

Obviously your comments are in Spanish, so I haven't translated them all to check... Will Villejo Primers (70.602) work well for Xpress when applied through an airbrush? And maybe you can help me, I can't find any real info on Xpress Medium 72.448. Is this the Xpress Color equivalent of Matt Base 70.540? If I have Game Color paints, can I add Xpress Medium to get them to behave more like Xpress Color? Or is Glaze Medium 70.596 and Thinner better for that? Thank you.

If you use Vallejo airbrush primer, it works well. However, if you use spray, the result is excellent. Xpress medium and Matt base are two completely different products. If you add Xpress medium to a game color, you will not get the same effect. It is because Xpress color has a different formulation.

I shake Xpress paints well. When applying, they can leave a lot of little bubbles in the recesses which don’t disperse later, causing bubble marks. 72.401 Templar White is particularly bad for this. How can I reduce the bubbles?

If you apply the Xpress too quickly to the surface, it can cause some issues. As a helpful tip, it's better to apply the Xpress more slowly. Imprimo en blanco y después doy con aerografo una base de color carne clara modelcolor. Aplicó después carne enano de Esprex color estoy buscando un color carne para figuras de segunda guerra mundial,tengo también los los últimos colores carne del último lanzamiento. Que me aconsejas.???

Yo tengo muchos problemas con la imprimación en blanco y precisamente utilizo esas dos marcas de spray. Por mucho que lo hago según pone el fabricante se me queda polvo en la figura y demasiado áspera. Si alguien me puede decir que hago mal?

Te queda polvorienta la impimacion de spray? Pueder ser por varios motivos: 1- Mala agitación del spray 2- Boquilla sucia/atascada 3- Spray estropeado Mandame una foto al IG para ver si te puedo ayudar :)

Consigues que la pintura esté mas diluida pero no vas a conseguir la misma formulación que una Xpress :)

Xpress Color works with airbrush primer, but you will get excellent results using a spray. :)

No hice un testeo exhaustivo con las Contrast, pero en superficies planas algunas veces no queda con una capa uniforme. Es decir, no queda mal, pero no un resultado excelente :)

@@ElPelaoM Puedes pintar una piel orco con pintura normal, y despues aplica veladuras con Xpress, y te queda de lujo, yo es el mayor uso que le doy a las Xpress. Te recomiendo ponerle un par de gotitas de agua para hacer las veladuras con Xpress

La imprimación a pincel tiene diferente formulación, ademas que imprimar a spray o con el aerografo, siempre vas a conseguir un mejor acabado :)

Se pueden mezclar colores? Solo con expres o con pinturas normales?

Si las mezclas con pintura normal, pierden las propiedades. Si las mezclas con otras Xpress, sin problema :)

Si lo mezclas con pintura normal, pierdes las propiedades de la Xpress. Si quieres mas carga de pigmento, te recomiendo las nuevas Intense, o aplicar 2 capas :)

Me dijeron que no era aconsejable poner las xpress (contrast, speedpaint, etc.) en una paleta húmeda, y Ángel siempre las coloca ahí. ¿Alguien puede despejarme la duda?

Eso depende del papel que uses en la paleta húmeda, el papel reutilizable de Redgrass Games va muy bien con este tipo de pintura :)

00:25 This is false, you can black primer and then use airbrush white for creating shadows and highlights which complements the contrast/Xpress paints. In fact it looks very unnatural when contrast/Xpress paints are used over plain white primer. Also, never put contrast/Xpress paints on a wet palette, water will screw up their pooling properties and they will run more than they are intended to. Use them neat or dilute with contrast medium

Xpress works using a matte spray, but Xpress doesn't work if the spray is quite matte What spray did you use?

I don't recommend using xpress paints with your good brushes as they tend to wear out your brushes faster than regular paint. I usually use a brush for shading.

Son productos diferentes, las Xpress son mas viscosas y se autonivelan, dejando una capa uniforme en las partes planas y en los huecos mas carga de pintura
