I do all my primary gaming on a PC in a living room home theater environment with a "console-ized" gaming PC now running a 4090 GPU. In this video, I go over some of the keys I make the PC work and avoid the frustrations that can come with using a PC away from a desk or office. Thanks for sharing. I’ve switched from pc to series X when it launched because sitting in the corner of my room away from everyone got depressing. I game from a couch in my bedroom with the lights on now and it’s very refreshing. I’ve now wanted to switch back to pc for the modding aspect of games as I’ve missed that part. So now here I am building a computer for the living room & my bedroom. I will have to keep that wireless startup remote in mind for when I build it.

The Steam Deck would always interfere with my TV's ability to use it's remote for any other input. Do you use Control4 to control your Living Room components? If so, did you consider if WOL (wake on LAN) can be used to turn on your PC? I haven't had time to play games on PC for a while (unfortunately), but when I did, I never really considered using a controller with a PC. I considered it when playing Fortnite a while back, but I stuck with keyboard/PC. For PC games that use a controller, maybe in a future video, you can discuss the pros (and cons) of using a PC versus a console (Xbox, Playstation).

This is the only video i found on this matter. I am thinking to build a pc+oled tv or just an xbox+same tv.... and was thinking about pros and cons of both options.... tbh after watching your video i found out for me that pc setup as console is not an easy thing for a rookie like me )) i mean more hussle with all you do. Though Pc would bring more capabilities in terms of for example if you wanna play an old game that you like but in 4k etc etc.... i know new consoles have that backward compatibilities ... but that doesn't work always as fluent as on pc....Also pc games are cheap (but in this case you like spend much more money if you want to build an absolutely killing pc)..... tbh i have 2 questions to you if you don't mind answering would be awesome 1 - For example how much is the difference of picture graphics quality for your eye when comparing your pc and lets say series x or ps5 (though i don't like sony)??? 2 - Why you picked this setup instead of just buying a console and connecting it to your tv if you are a controller user type person ? interesting to hear your motivation and thoughts on that questions Sorry for my poor english , i am not a native speaker! .Your channel is great by the way

Thanks! I try to really make unique and detailed content about really using and improving the experience of our systems. If PC is too much trouble, then skip it and enjoy console, IMO. The only real main benefit of PC is fidelity. That said, the difference in fidelity if you spend the money really is quite large. I tried to show this off in a stream, but it didn't really come through. This is a great topic for a future live though to discuss. Oh, controller works great on PC nowadays. Pretty much every game supports it perfectly with all the controller features.

Valve said something about SteamOS coming to PC… if they end up doing it and pulling it off, it’ll be INCREDIBLE. PC flexibility, graphical power and FPS but with the same feel as a plug and play console 😮😮 Steam big picture mode access is still amazing though, so much more intuitive then having to use a mouse and keyboard to get into a game

I agree, but main problem with steamos is that it is linux and right now there are a lot of problems with games and also with cracked games, but it is much better than it was before, some games shows better fps than in windows what is incredible, but there is still so much job to do so it can be windows alternative

@@hopzy1770 ah, I had no idea Linux had issues with cracked games, sounds like something the big game publishers definitely wouldn’t like lol. Is it because the DRM is made for windows and not Linux? Maybe AI could help create really good compatibility layers for Windows, IDK.

@@DrDoinks main problem is that linux can't nativly run exe files so you need proton. But it is not that big problem. Huge problem are drivers because there is not updates for graphics card. Actually i only use mac os right now and i can tell that mac os have bigger problems with gaming than linux

Wish I could have a dedicated pc. I'm using mine with desk and the the living room and it's pain in the ass. If I don't have the TV on but just want to game on my monitor it doesn't see it. To run 4k need a beefy video card. But man playing competitive gaming to TV is rough even in my c2 oled.

My PC isn't dedicated either, it's connected to three desktop monitors as well as a TV. I use Monitor Profile Switcher for hotkeys (you can bind those to your controller with Steam Input Desktop Config or Chorded Config as well) to seamlessly switch between TV and Desktop mode

@@musicjewell9329 The way you do this is in your GPU control panel you set up your desktop monitors and disable your TV, then you save that configuration in Monitor Profile Switcher. Then you do the same thing for the TV; enable the TV and disable your monitors, and also save that config. Then you can bind hotkeys to both configs, and you can bind those hotkeys to your controller with Steam Input like I said

Big picture isn't perfect, indeed. I think if they added icons to open up emulators and if they had the ability to log in to all different launcher accounts (like gog does). If they did all that, I think I would not ever get off of big picture mode. It would be perfect in my eyes then.
