How I made this Vampire Coffin for Halloween!
It's my favorite time of the year: Halloween! We've had a small cardboard coffin for years and it finally started crumbling apart, so I decided to upgrade and make a full-sized coffin: Perfect for vampires large or small.
The back plate is 3/4" plywood with a shaker frame style for the sides. I used the Ebony stain from Minwax as well as their One-Coat Poly to finish the build.
I was planning on including the bat emblem to REALLY help sell the vampire aesthetic, but I just wasn't happy with the paint job. I included it in the video because I believe in showing the full process as much as I can.
I have plans in the future for adding some movement to the coffin. I was thinking of adding some way for the door to slowly creak open as people walk by. Leave a comment below if you have any ideas that you think would work!
