That roof distortion he's talking about after the heat gun is called "oil canning." The metal will "pop out" and forever be stuck out like the bottom of an old oil can. You can press it back down, but it'll just pop right back up. Big problem in the paintless dent repair world also.

This was a great informative video, I can do this myself but if I lived in their area, I would pay them just because they deserve the business for giving out such solid information.

Thanks for letting me know if you leave on for more than 1-2 years it will deteriorate and mess up the paint. Was going to get my roof wrapped but not anymore.

You should drape any cables and cords over your shoulder so it doesn’t touch the car and potentially scratch the paint. I.e. when using the heat gun to set the edges.

I broke one before I watched video and I was, oh hell nah. I used the card trick on the evo x. Different clips, but I got it off without breaking any of the fragile $3ea green clips. Thanks for saving me $$$.

What if the paint (clear coat) on your roof is already damaged? Will the vinyl have a hard time sticking?

I will try it for sure, hope is easier than when I tried wrapping tje interior, I could not do it fue to the stick shift, I guess I will just remove the center console so I could work more confortable . Do you have a video for wrapping the inside?

Do you need to apply anything under the vinyl first ? There are products like 'Rapid TAC' and the like geared toward wrapping. Is this required ? Is even water need to be applied under the wrap first, or you just put the film on the clean metal roof ?

A question though - is it possible to 'patch' a factory installed wrap. e have a vehicle where the contrast roof colour has puckered over time and wondered if that means the whole roof has to be done or just the damaged part. No worries if you can't answer that!

In terms of the methods to remove certain exterior parts of the car off, how do you know the ways to remove the parts for cars you haven't done before? Are they all roughly the same method? Like Clip on spoiler that you just rip off and whatnot?

What happens if a car has a old fading clear coat and paint is already faded , how would u put a wrap over all the clear coat flakes ?

You say 1 to 3 years. Everywhere else I've looked has said 5 years for a wrap. I have an AZ sun faded pickup. Side panels and doors are ok. I wanted to wrap the hood and roof. When you say it's good for a year are you just saying that it fades from the sun or peels off in that time period? And hypothetically, if you kept it parked in a garage all the time, would the wrap last forever? Also, does carbon fiber last any longer? It seems like a more durable material.

The sunroof on my car is making me hesitate a little.

A question please: If you look at the roof of the latest model Toyota RAV4 it has some raised moulded areas (cosmetic design), so the roof area is not entirely flat….so how do you tackle this? Does it need shrinking around the raised / prominent areas before continuing with the rest of the roof, or is there some way to shrink around them after the stretch? Hope you get what I mean, it’s hard to describe, but if you look at a picture of the latest (2019 onwards) model, you’ll understand what I mean. Thanks.

I got my roof wrapped in 1080 3M gloss black but the "reflection" of the roof wrap looks really blurry. Is this normal or should I have my tint guy redo it? Before it was wrapped my roof looked like a mirror but now it looks like you are looking at 240P video quality "reflection" if that makes sense

How do you go about a sunroof/moonroof? Do you leave it open or closed? Do you cut a "X" across the opening or follow the outline of the square opening to release the vinyl and then tuck it?

Ive got an ol' fourby. There is a sml bit of rust to touch up. And the clear is faded. Is there a type of vinyl that is designed to be left on , and durable for many years?

My RSX has a sun roof wonder how hard it is to get the edges clean around that...
