The key to recovering from your knee replacement is movement. The best movement is to walk! But how do you walk with a walker after a knee replacement when it hurts so much??
In this video, you will learn how to walk with a walker after a Knee replacement with less pain!
The less pain you have, the longer you will be able to walk.
Key Steps / Reminder Cues from the video:
1. Walker forward
2. Surgical leg (between back legs of walker)
3. Arms (press down hard)
4. Non surgical leg.
Repeat.

It's easy. And the cane on steps is easy too. I had my right knee done yesterday and thought it would be hard. 5 minutes the PT had me up and going!

This is a great video, 4 star for sure, but for those just out of surgery, it is confusing to hear right foot/left foot if the surgical side is opposite. This video would be a 5 star if you updated the terminology to say surgical/non-surgical or something like that.

Aurora, the tennis balls just help the walker slide and glide easier over surfaces, especially over houses with tile and carpet. The back legs that typically come with these walkers are either a hard plastic or a rubberized material which can add resistance. They have pre-cut tennis balls that can just pop right onto the walker and there are also a variety of "walker skis" that help the walker glide easier as well. Some people opt to try to cut an "X" into the tennis balls themselves but it's quite dangerous to do so! Be careful, stay safe 😊
