Thanks for taking the time to make this vid 🙏 I have the same jacket and it helped me understand how to clean it. Pre-treating with vinegar water will take your wash to the next level 😉

Washing down jackets is extremely nerve racking, but so worth it to have your jacket just like new when it's done. The down does clump when it's wet but magically comes back to life when it's tumble dried. Thanks for the vid. It's very confidence inspiring!

Thanks Chris! It's definitely not as scary as it seems 🙌

Could you explain your process using no machine ?

I dip my jacket in soap water and then I soak a soft big cloth piece in mild detergent and then I rub the very dirty places of the jacket with my hand and cloth slowly and softly and then once done I reverse the jacket inside out put it in a mesh bag and then put it in the wash cycle and then take it out and dry it in the sun in a hanger for 2-3 days inside out so that the water is completely dry and there is no mould formation later on... I am talking about less pricey synthetic jackets

Does the same procedure apply to designer body warmers
@wildearthaustralia9 ай бұрын
Hey there, I would assume so, but always double-check the label or check with the designer.

What happens if you don't have the balls when you tumble dry?
@BoronAlloy4 ай бұрын
Buy some before you wash the jacket. Alternatively, you’ll need to manually manipulate the clumps every 10 minutes as it starts to become drier.

Thank you. I have not yet washed my down jackets, as i don't want to ruin them. Now I shall give them a wash. Cheers. :)

Not to mention potentially setting yourself up for having mould/mildew within the natural filling, giving rise to that typical fusty damp smell.

Hey there (it's Lauren from the video) - did you buy from us at Wild Earth? The product doesn't really have a fragrance to it so for me it smelt like nothing, just clean? Please let us know more details. Thanks for getting in touch!
