Doc explains the short cycle method of watering your lawn. It's not meant to be a deep lawn watering, but simply allow your lawn to survive during hot and dry conditions.

due to drought, heat and grubs my lawn looked horrible. i had to figure this out since i am tired of digging up bad grass. I found Doc's channel and watched countless video's. The turnaround my yard has experienced is nothing short of amazing and i expect it to only get better. Thank you Doc for what you are doing. Saved my yard and it now my wife has only good things to say about our yard. LOL

Doc, if you line the floor with vinyl sheet flooring, it’s so much easier to clean. You just scrape it & put new bedding down.

For all of the naysayers and trolls, I've been following Doc's channel for about 4 years, followed his advice including the Lawncare Guide, and my Bermuda lawn is the envy of the neighborhood. I love the comments from people walking by. I wish I could post before and after pictures here. I also put Dirt Booster in my raised garden bed, and DAMN! Great results.

People need to understand: Docs videos from when he was at his old house are more geared towards the lawn general homeowners. His farm now: we’re along for the ride of what the man wants to do and what makes him happy. Its different now. The channel has changed. The lawn advice from 2018 still applies. Grass hasnt changed. Just enjoy it.

I’ve been following Doc for 4’years now and I have learned so much from him. The channel has changed due to the new residence but he is still applying the same rules. As you said @MrGermany18, grass doesn’t change! I swear by the Anderson products and I even have screenshots of all the products I use with bullet points as to their purpose, how to use, etc., including cost, and place them in binders and hand them out to people who ask questions and motivated to spruce up their lawn! Just spreading Doc’s wealth of knowledge. 🏆 My husband jokes and tells people that I hold class in the garage on Saturdays. 😜

I was about to say the EXACT same thing! My neighbor got a citation and a court hearing for watering on a non-watering day here in San Antonio. So, it's once a week watering for me; about 30 minutes for each zone (2 split 15 minute sessions to avoid run off). I wish we could water earlier than 7am too. I think the time restrictions here are ridiculous as well.

Thank you for the inspiration , I'm in the process of trying to repair a old and neglected Bermuda lawn. I'm fairly certain this is common Bermuda. It hasn't been touched in a decade or more. Just left to it's own devices. I've sprayed weed killer twice ( mix of Certainty and Celcius) and just put down biochar. I'm wondering at what height I should be mowing this grass. It's currently under 1 inch and doesn't seem to be growing much. Should I just leave it to grow for a couple of weeks? Thanks for all the great info on Bermuda.

Wouldn't the opposite be true for survival ... let it go long and survive on less water out of necessity? I'm in a similar climate to Doc in northern Louisiana and I've been letting it get long and sometimes to the point of seed heads in peak droughts like July 2024. The grass isn't a perfect carpet at times but that is ok by me. This seems to be a survival alternative for those of us who can't get to the lawn 2-3 times a week. But my gosh that lawn is beautiful!!!
