Watercolor is one of the most popular media for nature journaling for a variety of reasons. However, watercolor can be challenging too. In this video I go over a variety of ways to use watercolor in your nature journal from easy to more challenging. Whether you are just getting started with nature journaling or are an intermediate nature journaler you will get something out of this video.

I need to remember to try out lettering with watercolor more often! I already do little wc sketches of plants, and I am trying to improve my landscape skills currently. But I haven't tried lettering much, or remembering to make boxes to let text pop.

It definitely feels like a technique that provides a lot of bang for the buck!! Sometimes we need those little techniques up our sleeves because other aspects of watercolor take so much time to improve on.

@@MarleyPeifer I did a lot of swatching Costa Rica, but I thought of it as a baby step to get started, not as an ongoing tool that even real nature journalers use.😊
