My friend Pete is a very nice guy I called him a few days ago and he called me back today and we talked for a little bit talking about painting and bodywork. I just started my own bodyshop and was asking his advice he is a very smart guy and he knows his stuff . And based on what I seen he is a very good painter and very skilled. If I lived closer to him it would be fun to go help him out on the weekends for free just to learn from him . Keep up the awesome work .

Thanks for this video. I am trying to learn enough welding to do a driver quality restore of a 65 Galaxie fastback. This video really brought it all together for me. I am 65 years old, I always wanted to do an old car, so now I am finally doing it with my six year old grandaughter. Thanks for the videos actually showing the work being done in different ways according to budget.

Hi Pete! I’m working on my first full body resto. It’s a 76 highboy. I’ve just replaced one cab mount and the Front floors. Lots of welding! Of course you know this but a tip for the new guys is that you can also use compressed air to cool your welds.

Sometimes it's low budget jobs that come in. I got a few customers that bring me half finished stuff. It's kind of annoying but they pay well and don't complain and are repeat customers. It is what it is. You'll do them decent, you always do 👍

Some people use air to cool down in between welds. One guy used a thermal gun to prove air cool faster than water. Have you tested that process before?

Could you do something to reduce the chance of warpage? Maybe cool the piece down before welding? It would be impractical to shell out money for a walk in freezer to weld in. If in fact it did reduce warpage, why not? Beats the hell out of working in a shop with a fan to keep you cool. At least in the Summer. Bonus! Cold Beer & a place to keep bodies.

The first time I tried this I got fucked in the ass. And ended up warping the metal. I'm no welder so every time I weld it looks like a 12-year-old did it. Luckily for me KZfaq exist and I applied the stitch weld method and it works like a charm.
