Great video Pete. I wish fiberglass Matt and resin and even acetone was that cheap here in Australia. I wouldn't even get any change from 150 bucks here in Australia. It's an absolute joke the prices here. Cheers Graham

Man I have an 80 model and it needs a paint job, been dreading because sooo many vettes have quarter sized bubble. Makes me wonder if this is osmosis or the use of mineral spirits/wax and grease remover.

Thanks for the info. I had a few people telling me to use house of colors, but the one guy that told me I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him so I never used house of colors lol. I’m looking for a good mat finish for exterior or interior for dashboard, etc. Thanks for verifying that what I definitely don’t want to use👍. PS I like the way you tell it as it is and not blow smoke up our anus.

Pete has been the reason why I felt I could do it! He is correct that it is hard work for the body, but it’s been a pleasure of mental satisfaction. I say to myself whenever I see my car, “I did this!” And I’m so proud of my hard work. Thanks Pete, and god bless you.

The front handle can be mounted straight off level with the top. Remove the back screws, rotate the handle horizontal, punch new holes for the back screws. Then you won't need the riser. I also moved the bottom tray that the tank sits on 1/2" back so the big 330 tanks fit in easy. The wheels aren't the best but they work, I upgraded the wheels.

I’ve been saying that for years that the country is not run by the president you are 100% correct! I’ve noticed a huge change after Obama left office look what we get T too choose from as canidates I’ll say this, that the president is pre picked by the people backing the money for there campaign! We the people vote for a canidate that is already picked that’s how corrupt this government is oh and who I. There right mind would follow a felon? It’s all brainwashing thanks too the news being bought but yes the same people that give too the parties, I voted one time in my life and that was it because I figured out that it was all fixed way back in the day! If the government was run correctly you wouldn’t have lifers making millions every single person in politics needs too be put on term limits screw this shit

Hey pete, i was never able to see what part number the epoxy was that you used. I used a panel bond that was blue and dam thing had some kind of reaction and the whole epoxy fluffed up and was not hard at all, it was spongy after days of drying and i did use the mixer syringe and also tried hand mixing, same outcome. Can you share the part number please? I didnt see it on the description either so figured I'd ask

You are worried about a clear coat that does not notify you with the smell so you do not breathe the fumes, but you do not wear gloves when you handle paint/body products? Stay safe, Pete.

As i work on a project it is moved in and out of the shop so i seal it with epoxy then body work over that. The humidity is low here so if i can keep it in the shop i would body work without sealing. There is no one way of doing things but a reason to do things certain ways at certain times. I also seal before base coat so i do not have to worry about burn throughs. With sufficient dry time there is no worry of dieback

Pete, You wine like a mule. My NAPA dealer has these in stock and so dose the snap on truck. About $1.25 each. So quit your bitchin. And BTW, I had my left knee totally replaced last year. Of course you would rather bitch about it rather than follow your doctors advice.

I just learned something- valspar also has the refinishing company that has the colorful parrot on the label- it sucks as well. Their reactive reducer for tricoat will fizz like soda when you mix it in their base coat. I threw it out, I said no way am I going to try that.
@Daveunruh6 күн бұрын
14:09- their base sucks too.

I’ve said 25 years ago- I will never use HOC crap EXCEPT their candy, because I know the formulas. SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE EVERYTHING HOC is super finicky, and flashes waaaaaay too fast. Same with Tamco- fn Tamco is as thick as syrup- and it flashes in 12 minutes. You aren’t going to lay paint on a whole car well in 12 minutes.
@Daveunruh6 күн бұрын
I used BASF once- I had such a hard time with their base coat, I had to fatten up TWO guns, with 1.5, 33psi, and have another shop painter attack the car on the other side JUST to get it all covered in time.
