Why people make this 123 video, with everything working like a clock...bullcrap, the bolt on the bottom won't get loose unless someone is holding the drum in place to preventing from spinning, and even after you take the bolt out (wasn't 1/2" was 3/8" by the way) the agitator wont come out, until you bang the darn thing with rubber mallot, and then it may finally it will get loose and come out. Not a five minus job by all means, and that is why this videos are important, it shows everything you will have to do, not just the final product...

My agitator was really stuck. Even tried a gear puller with webbing straps. No luck. Here's what worked for me: After removing the center bolt, I poured a couple tablespoons of vinegar down the bolt hole where the agitator meets the spline. I waited an hour or two so that any calcium and rust deposits that are holding the agitator to the spline react and dissolve. Then I tried lifting out the agitator along with short forward and backward jerks. Worked for my Maytag MVWC565FW0 High Efficiency washer.

Thank you VERY much for your video! I greatly appreciate it! I have to add that if they weren't built so poorly we wouldn't need to know how to do this. One of the little wing things on mine literally just broke off and now I have to replace the whole assembly. It's absolutely amazing to me how poorly appliances are built nowadays. It seems like it would take exceptional skill and craftsmanship to design such poor product which are quite obviously engineered to fall apart and need to be replaced.

I broke the agitator plate off. But the gear is stuck in the shaft. I ridded a pull system and pull it with my truck and now the washing machine is hanging. You guy make it look easy to get it off, there no way my washer is hanging mid air with a wash plate gear. How would u get it off to replace the wash plate?

I have a Maytag washing machine, model # LAT4916AAE : It's got alot of gunk that is getting on the clothes that comes out of the machine, after its done the wash cycle. I need instructions to remove the inner drum, to be able to scrub the inside portion of the outer drum, that is where I suspect the gunk build up is stuck to. Thank you in advance for the help.

I have a Maytag Top Loader Glass Top washer. This model doesn't have an agitator in it, spins from the bottom and moves the clothes around during the cycle. I would like to install an agitator for a more thorough washing. Is it possible to reinvent the wheel with the model that I have?

My Maytag Top Loader will Not go into WASH Cycle, It Fills Up and Empties Water and Spins but the Agitator will Not Activate on Any Cycle I Try. A Friend was Caught Turning the Selector Backwards and I am Wondering if She may have Broken the WASH Selector Mechanism. What is Your Opinion ? Thank You. Model # MAV408DAWN.

Are you serious? My stupid roommate was caught turning the selector backwards. Who does that?? I had to replace the the whole timer and now I'm working on the agitator.

Correct this it’s a 7/16 socket and the bolt is lock tired. I needed a impact gun

I GOT A MAYTAG PERFORMA ,the agitator is held on to the spline shaft with a small screw at the bottom ,heres my prob ,when i lift up to pull agitator out ,the shaft comes up with it ,is it broke ??? we were washing today and agitator floated up so high that shaft spline was in the washer enough to make it work !! please help ,thank you in advance !!!

Have a 30 year old Whirlpool Imperial. Been making noise on regular cycle. Can use delicate. Sometimes the agitator works by itself but I have had to help it. Was told it's gear agitator?

Though the temperature of the water reaches 70 degrees hot when washer full is mildly hot. What is the reason,please?

Ιs a heavy duty - 10.1 Kg capacity Kelvinator washing machine with the dryer attached to it at the top. I am not sure of the year's model. My problem is that the water once full is just warm. I have a new Olympic heater, medium sized. Is always written 65 degrees or higher temperature when I do my washing but gets cool within minutes. I would like to wash with hot water but is not possible.

You may have to find an extension to attach to your tool to be able to get down there to remove it.

Obviously the agitator was loosened prior to filming. I had to hold it down while a second person loosened the nut.

Yes, if you turned off the circuit breaker or unplugged the appliance, you will need to turn it back on or plug it back in once you've completed the repair.
