Thank you so much for such a very informative tutorial! I'm just finishing sanding down my old maple coffee table and will be trying the paint wash method to give it s fresh natural look! A great change from the dated orange finish. I'll have to get myself the carbide scraper before I tackle all my other dated orange maple furniture! 😂

If you take a fine fine file, and run it only on the top(put handle in vise with blade end up) a few light passes and it’s as good as new.

I used the scraper on a recent project. I liked using it! I will use it again. No clue when to sharpen or change the blade 🤷‍♀️ The table turned out 😍 😍

Hi. I know this is an older video. However, regarding the carbide scraper, once you feel like you need to change the blade, all you need to do is flip the blade around to the other side. All the carbide blades have the same profile on both sides.

You did an amazing job on this table it looks so good, thank you for all your tips on how to whitewash I have not tried this yet but plan to. Bleach is a great cleaner for mould killer on non porous surfaces, vinegar is much better on porous surfaces it needs to be left on for an hour though to fully penetrate.

I got the scraper yesterday and immediately tried it on a small cabinet top. It worked really well! I saw the replacement blades and feel they are rather costly, so I hope they last a long time! Also, I wanted to comment on the mold problem. A few years ago we had a mold problem in the basement of our church. It wasn't bad, but since there were a lot of people using the area we wanted to make sure to keep everyone safe. I have a particular sensitivity to mold so I know the side effects. We called in a mold remediation expert to give us an assessment of the problem and a solution. The first thing he advised was not to use bleach because it does not kill most molds, it only lightens them and fools you into believing that the mold is gone. He said that mold is terribly insidious and can stay alive even through several layers of paint. When he looked around at the walls which had been painted the year before, he showed us teeny dark specks of mold starting to come through. That walls had been washed with bleach prior to painting. He advised using a product specifically engineered to kill mold spores. So you were right, Denise, in advising people to get mold remover at a hardware store. I love watching your videos, Denise. It amazes me how much time you put in to your work. But cream always rises to the top!
