How to win in your lane as a support: pray that your lane partner is good The amount of times I’ve lost T2 goal bc my lane partner did not know how to properly utilize having a hoopa (and other support but mostly hoopa) as a lane partner is crazy. And some just straight up abandon me after dying once or twice bc they kept playing diving recklessly. My favorite fill Pokemon is Hoopa and clefable at the moment; hoopa having carried me to Masters this season and Clefable just being extremely fun to play. I play slowbro when a defender is needed.

Something people don't do is apply pressure when playing a defender. Goodra can space enemies away or let them get in his melee range, while having Gooey and Bubble for lane sustain and tankiness. Bubble shield has saved my butt so much, people forget how much value that thing has lmao

This is a fine video Jake but if you really want people to start understanding how to lane properly you should do it in like a film breakdown style I think. Where you can talk about why you made the choices you made, what you saw and felt that led to some of the choices you made. You do a little of this while playing and it is impressive to play and talk through your reasoning at the same time, but I feel like so much more understanding could happen if you communicated more to us by focusing on explaining it!

Its not strictly related to how to win a lane per say, but since lanes are where scoring happens, I thought I'd add a tip that I've learnt through playing and that I think some people may not realise: The score animations of different Pokemon actually give them different durations for their scoring, and that can sometimes ruin an overcap if you don't know what your Pokemon's score time is: For example, if a goal's got 31 points on it and a Lucario has 40 points on, and your ally gardevoir has 30 points on. Even if you both start your score on the pad at the exact same time, the actual time for the points to enter the goal is so much longer with gardevoir's drawn out score animation, its likely that the lucario will have already broken the goal before garde's points are actually counted as being entered. This is something that has cost me overcaps in the past, and I'm not sure how many people are aware of this so just thought I'd put it out there. Yeehaw to you and yours!

Usually I use Support and defender, and I always choose Eldegoss or Trev as defender, sometimes Hoopa, but I think in my rank people don't use teleport lol

i'm starting to main defenders, love how Crustle plays and i usually play solo or a team where they are carries, so i tend to focus on defenders lol, love the videos! watching them has definitely helped my game!

For Support I go Hoopa. Was super into the Trick/Shadow Ball build for a while but I'm starting to get the hang of Hyperspace Hole/Phantom Force. For Defender my go-to is Mamo, tried making Trevenant work but I found myself dying way too much. But for Mamo I typically go Icicle Crash and High Horsepower, not too big a fan of Ice Fang/Earthquake

I’ve been a Mamoswine main since he dropped - but I’ve taken a shine to Umbreon even post nerf - since it was a fave in the regular Pokémon games. My top 5 played Pokémon are all defenders and supports

Whenever I need to fill a spot, I usually pick either Slowbro or Blissey, I think they're pretty useful and I see improvement in the teams whenever I go support I wanna try out Mr. Mime, Greedent, and Comfey soon when I could afford them

I'm a Defender main and my go too is Trevenant, but I mostly go with what the comp is lacking. If we have to little SpA i'll go a SpA Defender, if we need a Attack Defender I'll go one With Supports My go too is Hoopa then in descending priority its Eldegoss, Clefable, and Blissley

I enjoy supports and defenders regardless of having to fill, but when I do fill I pick Hoopa/Elde/Clefable for support (depending on ally comp) and Slowbro/Umbreon for defense

Personally, between support and defender, I prefer defender because I'm more comfortable covering my squad on the frontline. Support is underrated for me, though.

Hoopa really is a magician

Blastoise will always be my main defender. I'd play support if I were any good at it but the only supporters I'm okay with are Eldegoss, Sableye and a little bit of Comfey. I'm hoping Mimikyu will be a supporter.

I always go talonflame when speedster needed since it's a really good addition to the team. I get a lot of teams without all rounders now so I use Machamp quite a bit.

It seems I usually have to run support/defense bc so many people want to carry. But the funniest thing is most of the time I will do almost as much dmg or more than the top dps. I'm an Eldegoss Jungler main, but I've been having a lot of fun running fast boi Sableye lately

My go to for each role is: decidueye for attacker(my main), zeraora for speedster, dragonite for all-rounder, but I just unlocked mewtwo and its pretty fun, trevenant for defender, and I never feel like im doing something with supporters, so I don't really go for supporter

If i have to fill a defender, my go to right now is lapras, is super tanky and if stacked up it does crazy damage.

Umbreon Is has been my go to defender since release, yes, it Is a very simple character but it fills the role of a tank, defender and support pretty well wich Is balanced by my team never picking anything but speedsters and attackers

I rode Mewtwo to masters and the moment I got there I started playing strictly supporters and defenders. I can carry but I’d much rather support because it’s more fun and takes more thought to fulfill your role properly.

So what happened to Mewtwo happened to me in a recent Sizor match where I was brawling a Comfey boosted Goodra on It's goal with simply Sizor, and we brawler each other for almost 2 whole minutes before their Zeraora appears and KOs me 10-20 seconds later after it shows up.
