I have the same piece. Very nice. Will be replacing the bracelet with a blue or red crocodile strap though.

Set the date to the day before. Put the hands on 6:30, wind the watch, set the time.

@@rizzodacrass8497 630 is the safest time to adjust the date. The gears fore the date wheel starts after 630pm and ends before 630am. That way you don't cause damage to it.

Set the hands to 6:30 THEN set the date.. Only do it in the order he said if you're trying to destroy the movement

Today I adjusted the time by Turning little backwards,is it not good I am doing it first time. Does it affect the functionality of the Watch.So far it runs good I did it to correct the time because it was running 2 minutes fast now it runs perfectly. Please advise .

You do not have to worry. A lot of modern mechanical watches have no problems when rotated counter-clockwise. You can apply the clockwise rotation as a general rule for yourself. Enjoy your watch!

How long does it last if you don't wear it after winding?

Depends on the power reserve. Most mechanical watches have around 24-48 hours. There are some that have 72 or 96.

Good afternoon, I'm off topic but I need help. My bride gave me a watch from the 70s “Tian Harlan corhmachron ” ,the head only rotates counterclockwise, is this normal? Or should I apply force and rotate clockwise? I'm afraid I'll spoil it because it's a wedding gift, it means a lot to me.

When it starts to lose or gain 2-5 minutes per day, or when there is something seriously wrong. Otherwise, there is no use to worry.

It does not have the option on this model. You either have a screw-down crown or a pull and push one.

I just purchased a seiko dressKX a week ago. It's a new watch. But why do I have to wind it around 20 times for the hands to start moving? I own a seiko presage and an orient, I would only need to wind them about 4-5 times to move the hands.

That does not mean that there is a problem or not. Some may start to run faster, some later. The energy stored inside should be the same after 20 winds.

Try shaking it for around 60 seconds. Maybe you do not have the hand-winding option. If it does not start maybe it has a problem.

If you wear the Automatic one on the wrist, it will keep on winding automatically. If you haven't worn your watch for a longer period and want to give it a boost, you can wind it before putting it on the wrist.

In seiko Manual winding watch do we need to wind it each and every day before stepping out? Or similar to other automatic watches will it get wind automatically according to the wrist movement?

On manual watches, you need to wind the watches every time they stop. They do not get winded by wear. It depends on the power reserve they have (meaning how many hours they can run with a full wind).

Most likely not as they do not have manual winding. Wear them and they should run.

That will only work through wearing. It does not work on all watches.

This is a seiko Presage. Also, there are many Seiko 5 (example SRPG AND SRPD) watch models that actually also manually wind while being automatic. Saying basic things for people who are new to watches and do not know everything.

@@SouthParkClip21Automatic watches should only be wound until they start running. Habitually handwinding wears out the gears responsible for it. Let the rotor do its job.
