Hello! My watch ticking arm goes and then stops, when I shake it it starts again, help am I doing something wrong???? It’s not working properly

If you shake it for 60 seconds or manually wind it and it stops quickly, you need to take it to a watchmaker to have a look at the watch.

@@vintageradarI haven’t shaken it for 60 seconds, is that something I should do? Also it started going for about 13 hours then it stopped again. I’m new to this, any advice? Will it always stop after a while?

@@jeembaymusic5271 Yes, it stops after the energy runs out. You can wind it or wear it on the wrist and it should run for around 40 hours. After that, it stops until you shake it or wind it again. Mechanical watches run for a limited period and then you need to rewind them in order to run. If you wear an automatic watch on the wrist it should keep on going since you move your wrist a lot.

If you shake it for a few seconds it will have energy for 10-20 minutes. If you shake it for a minute and it stops fast, you should visit a watchmaker as the rotor might be not doing its job properly. @@danielzamora4877
