I agree. The waist leash is also a game changer 😃. I haven't thought about putting the leash down through the front handle. I thought it would be in the way as you hold the wing in the front handle when you are flagging the wing riding waves. I will try it and let you know!

Thanks for watching Allen, yes there are variants of the idea. We have tried them all and found this to be the best way to navigate. You can take any belt (as long as it is suitable for water and to open easy) and put your board and wing leash on the belt. That could be an easy and also cheap setup to get started.

Yup but sooner or later you will be wearing a harness, so why not attache the leash from the board to the back of it? I am in the process of searching for a small hook to put on the front of my belt, I saw a guy make one from a 3d printer, so it doesn't damage the board like the old traditional kite or windsurf hook.

Dan, I have tried that as well. I bought a smaller windsurf hook and i put it on the very belt I am using. It could not slide but I changed the way i got up on the board and I was fine. Did not damage the board. It wasn't perfect, but it worked. But in the end the harness wasn't the way i wanted to navigate. I like the wing to be looser and flexible. We don't do long distances here, so the need for a harness is less. But if you want less stress on arms and shoulder or have tendinitis in the elbow, it is great. Hi Jim, sorry for my late reply. I’ve Bern searching for info about my belt. I’ve had it for two years now but can’t remember the brand. Maybe NSP, but If you Google “wing foil waist band” you will find several.

Yes! The leash gets in and around everything. If you have a long straight "surf" leash, that's the least favorable type. When you have it around your waist, it sits a lot higher both walking into the sea and on the board. Makes everything a lot easier. Only thing you have to think about is to make sure you have the leash behind you when you get up on the board. Try it and let me know how it went! 😃

Hey, nice to hear! Welcome!! You can rent gear in the south in Can Pastilla at El Niño Surf center or in the North at Pura Vida in Alcudia. All staff speak English and have gear to rent. ANd they are next to good wing foil places as well!
