This video series features the complete restoration of a 1972 CL350 Honda Scrambler motorcycle. The videos should help anyone whether working on a cafe racer build or a full-on original restoration. I'm definitely not an expert so please refer to your manuals for proper disassembly and assembly instructions. Please leave comments if you have any questions. I'll be happy to help answer questions if I can confidently provide solutions. Again, I'm not a professional. This is my 2nd Honda motorcycle restoration and I'm learning every single day. I'd love to hear your tips if you have better ways to do things. I hope you find the series useful and entertaining. I strive to show as much detail as possible so that the videos can be used as not only a how-to resource but also a reference for the placement and original set up of parts and systems.
If you don't have one already please get a manual for your specific project. There are many available online for download for free.
Common Motor Collective, from which I source many of my replacement parts, has a fantastic resource on their website: bit.ly/CBManuals
You can also join groups on Facebook and get involved in the community.
Keep on wrenching, Friends!

‘71 Cb 350 twin in progress. Getting started and I’m having a blast with it already. Will likely be grabbing a harness being that previous butchers did away with horn, lighting, except for headlight which doesn’t work. Also there is power by key ignition alone. No need to switch on.🥴

PS. I just want to thank you again. With your vids, I'm almost finished with my 1975 Honda CB 360t. BTW. The bearing steering tapered are different on the 360t. the washer for the 360 will not fit on the stem. Right now I'm using your 350 vid as I've replace everything electrical/bearings/ shoes/wife....scratch the wife., but a ton of your stuff is interchangeable. I've been messing with bikes since I was in College but you had to know some because I was poor...Ha. I hope you're still doing this because they have to be the best step by steps I've ever seen. You also show your mistakes and fixes. I've always told my staff, that I have never learned much from being right. It's being wrong and figuring out where you went wrong and how to fix it teaches. I wish you did a 360t as you've done the 350. OUTSTANDING. I've referred people to your channel but I think you need to have more exposure. I also do competitive distance shooting and reloading for accuracy. Of all the on line training and how to, I had to watch to get started years ago, your form of teaching is unmatched. I guess that's it. I hope you read this and anyone that sees this to pass it on to your friends.

Brian, love the work. Thanks for everything you do! I got some different switches that happen to have a hazard switch on the right hand side. On both the left and right switches, there is a gray wire soldered in between the orange (left) and blue (right) flasher signals on the switches. Directly in between them as if it is some kind of "neutral". Any idea what this gray wire is for? My signals aren't working (flashers or signals). I'm thinking I should replace my flasher relay anyway so I will but I'm still trying to figure out what this damn gray wire is! Any help is much appreciated. Forgot to add, this is not the horn. I got the horn dialed in.

I assume it has something to do with activating 4-way flashers via the hazard switch. What are you working on? Any luck finding a color wiring diagram? That's my first assumption as it would make sense for those to be linked. Also, try flipping the wires on the flasher...that thing only works one way. I usually guess wrong as there are no markings that I can tell.

The plug you are referring to is brown, correct? If so, there is a brown mate to that one coming off the main wiring harness. If you don't, then there is likely some modifications made on your machine. There should be a round, brown plug down the vertical shaft of the frame that it plugs into.

Most likely a grounding issue. Connect to a frame ground off the green of the horn. If you have black power on that it should go. If not, test you’re leads off the horn to verify that your horn is solid. You can test the horn directly off the battery. If the horn works ofc of that…investigate the switch.
