One of the most important thing in wiring your bird mount is to leave the thigh bone wire in.. it is a must to help your mount have a balanced stance.

Good job Ben Here we don't throw the skull I always clean it very well and treat it with some chemicals and clay and put it back with skin and complete the work

Please please please could you comment on what wire gauges and types of wire you use? Also how you measure for eye diameter? Thanks so much for your videos. They really motivate me to try and learn this trade:)

Hi Steve. I use black anield wire because they bend easy and stay bent , they don’t have the springy feeling to them. You can get them from hardware stores. The eye size is determined by measuring the diameter of the its own eyes after skinning.

The tape gives the muscle a smooth and slippery surface so when I taxi the skin around it will move freely.

When you skin the birds you are leaving thigh bones to the carcass right? Just keep in mind to leave the same length of wire before you insert the leg wire into the body.
