This video demonstrates how to attach 2 pieces of yarn together using a technique called felted joins (also known as "spit splicing"). Felting the 2 ends of yarn using friction and liquid has a neat result, minimises the number of tails you need to weave in at the end of your project, and saves time in the long run!

Thank you! I normally use merino 80/20% with polyacryl and it works very well. Merino is a bit fluffy so it's great for it. My specialty is to let all the filaments together. But: to get the same thicknessof the yarn like it had before l pull while l rub it between my fingers. First l use my palm of the hand, too, but then l need to put my fingers to pull until the same thickness is reached. That works so fantastic, after some practice it is so fast and well done you hardly can't see the difference. Your kind of doing this is as well as mine. Mine is just another technical detail in tiny part of the same technic. Both work great. Be blessed and healthy, too! Yours, Conny, a knitting teacher as well and happy to find such great tips like yours. Some of them can help me, although l knit since over 45 years. You see, one never has learned enough, never knows everything at all! Go on, you do that so fantastic!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I totally see what you mean about teasing out the fibre to get a thin join as you're felting the ends together - that sounds like a fantastic alternative method! I absolutely love how there's always something new to learn with knitting too - every project is an adventure!! :)
