Wowowow this totally beats how I was folding my square dumplings. I was wetting all four edges, then making each of the four corners meet in the middle. It took forever!!! And they looked more like samosa's than dumplings...

Do you pan fried them, like pot stickers or do you boil them with soup, like wontons soup?
@mobingtang Жыл бұрын
I have done all of the above. Pro tip if you’re out of space: boil dumplings in the water you’re using to steam! You get two different types of dumplings with just one burner usage!

Haha. You have to consider that the commenting feature was different 12 years ago. KZfaq has changed so the comments now appear like this. But thank you for your unsolicited input.

is Dumpling wrapper different from wanton wrapper?
@kingstonshine37273 жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure wontons are thick, it definitely matters
@kingstonshine37273 жыл бұрын
Also dont boil dumplings like these dipshits, pan fry or steam

Dumpling is more of a catch all term for this type of food. The name changes depending on the country and the final cooking preparations. For boiling, Cantonese and Mandarin speaking people call them “wonton”. Potstickers have different names in different dialects. Wonton usually use much thinner wrappers. While the potstickers use thicker wrappers. But for me, I just use why feels right and cook how I would like to eat them! I encourage you to do that too!

Cool and all but don’t boil dumplings, pan fry or steam. Come on now

In Cantonese and Mandarin, boiled dumplings are called wonton. Wonton are very widely eaten. You can prepare them however you like.
