@chrisonpiano explains how easy it is to make up your own TV or movie-style soundtrack on the Yamaha PSR-SX900 keyboard. Using the automatic backing styles called 'Freeplay', you can become the conductor of your own Hans Zimmer style orchestra, or an Andrew Lloyd-Weber style musical. You don't need to be a highly-skilled keyboard player to produce a professional quality soundtrack.

Great help!!! Thank you -- very well done. I got my sx900 about eight weeks ago. Still learning it's capabilities. Your settings sound --very rich. I am 76 and play by ear. I used an older yamaha psr 630. It is amazing what is available today. Great inspiration. Thank you greatly!!

Hi Chris and thank you so much. There is so much to this keyboard that meets the eye ! Can you tell me what chord fingering you've used to play?

Hi, Purple Moon. I had the keyboard set to 'multi fingered' which means that I could play complete chords and variations or single fingered style. I tried the latter in this video, using only 2 fingers and my thumb, to show that you really don't need to be an accomplished piano player to produce an awesome soundtrack. Glad you liked it.

I am getting on a bit but have decided I want to learn the piano for a bit of fun. But I dont want to spend a lot of money on something that is only for a bit of fun. I narrowed it down to Yamaha ez300 61 key with light up keys or maybe an older dgx650 I have seen second hand. I was wondering if you can give some advice which would be best for an older person who intends to teach himself from KZfaq and whatever is inbuilt into the keyboard
