Are there any other pianos like this one, higher range or lower range... more importantly with a lid to keep the kids from ruining it.

For some reason, no matter how many times I’ve saved it to a bank or to the registry my SX-900 does not remember my left hand settings. I’ve been to several chat groups, I know several people personally who split the keyboard and played bass with their left hand who are all having this exact same issue. Is it not possible for the SX - 900 to remember the left-hand settings?

The host missed a difference in the sound between Yamaha CLP-785 and CSP-295 in his explanation, so I would like to explain it to you. The built-in sound of Yamaha CLP-785 includes four Fortepianos specially sampled from the Hamamatsu Musical Instrument Museum in Japan, while the sound list of CSP-295 does not include Fortepiano; the harpsichord sound in the sound list of CSP-295 is compared with CLP-785, which has the sound of the second manual keyboard of the harpsichord, while CLP-785 only has the sound of 8' and 8'+4' of the single manual keyboard.

I have owned a DGX-650 for more than ten years now. It's still going strong. I also own the furniture stand (that came with my 650) and the old, discontinued LP-7A 3-pedal unit that I bought later. I have no intention of trading in my 650 for a newer model, but if I were in the market today for something like this, I would have to lean toward the Roland FP-E50 instead. While the DGX is perfectly adequate for use in the home, it's not ideal for anything else, like gigging. There are no L/R outputs. It's also very heavy, even by the standards of 88-key weighted keyboards. The Roland still has 88 weighted keys, but it's quite a bit more portable and has those L/R outputs. I think the Roland has superior tones as well with their Zen Core sound engine. It's not that the Yamaha's tones are bad, but they are just not as good. With regard to the furniture stand and the 3-pedal unit, I appreciate the stability and appearance of the furniture stand. I don't really need the 3-pedal unit. After all, you can easily compensate for the lack of a soft pedal by simply turning down the volume. I would recommend getting a better single pedal than what comes with this thing. There are definitely more realistic single pedals that cost very little. The furniture stand does have a drawback, and that is the inability to mount a second keyboard or a laptop to it. If you use an X stand (better use a Double-X stand with a keyboard this size) or something else more modular, you can be more versatile. If there's one area where the Yamaha does defeat the Roland, it's the built-in speakers. The Yamaha does sound great on its own, whereas I would recommend plugging the Roland in to external speakers. But those nice speakers on the Yamaha come at a cost of portability for gigging. The Roland still has built-in speakers, but their placement means they will never sound as good. If you want something to use purely at home, the Yamaha is a great choice. But if you ever want to gig, the Roland is a clear winner.

Terrific review! One critique, however: while I'm quite cognizant of how fumbly and finicky a smartphone's Auto-Focus can be (if that is indeed how you're recording your videos), I found this review a bit hard to watch, as the AF kept struggling throughout the video, seeming to "bounce" and swell intermittently. I don't know what to suggest, as I don't know what your setup is (or what phone you're using, if you're using one at all). Granted, these types of videos are primarily audio anyway, so it's not a _huge_ deal overall, however the AF bounce does cause a bit of...not motion sickness or nausea, but it's definitely uncomfortable. On the plus side, I'm being gifted an NP-32, and your video here is one of a couple I've seen that has me pretty excited about what I'm getting. I had a Roland SK-50 for almost 30 years before its speakers and power connectors finally died, so this will be a significant step up, I think. Thanks for posting this video review!

I'm not sure with sx700, but on my sx900, when you use the tutti and hit the keys harder, it gives you a different sound.

After watching one of your videos, I bought a sx700 , unfortunately I do not live in the UK anymore otherwise I would definitely have bought through you but Brexit rules made it impractical. Your tips, especially the one about Legacy voices which I knew nothing about, are invaluable and all I can do to support you is subscribe and keep viewing.

When will Yamaha fix the defect that is present in all Yamaha psr sx600, sx700, sx900 instruments. When recording styles in a midi sequencer with continuation on parts where there is CC84, they disappear. To record well, you have to do it all at once. There are still other defects.
