How to Write Amazing Characters: Gilgamesh (Fate Zero)

Күн бұрынStorytelling is a phenomenon sweeping across KZfaq, but there's so much more to it than what we see on this platform. One example of amazing emotional storytelling is Gilgamesh in Fate/Zero, where his character has a drastically different role than he does in Stay Night or Grand Order.

If you think Gilgamesh was peak in Fate/Zero, then I highly recommend playing the Gilgamesh route of Fate/Extra CCC. CCC was basically the first Fate media where Gilgamesh was in a major non-antagonistic role and his character arc in the game was just beautiful.

Gil is the king of " don't give a F%&k " he was soaked by the grail evil power " mud " and he saw all the world evils any servent who see it will turn to the dark side and become what's known as Alter, Gil on the other hand was like " yeah so what I don't care " and didn't change one bit

Wise of you to devote the first character video to Gilgamesh, for it would be foolish to put any other before the King. Silliness aside, I appreciate this video and the shout out to Aleczandxr! I think Gil just had one of the best lines in fiction "Why must pleasure and sin be connected?" This scene is easily one of top 10 because it is absolutely true, you can find pleasure by helping someone with their financial problems, or saving someone's life. Everyone perceives it differently, and Gil as a character understands that probably cuz he did some heinous shit himself.

I've got a Fate Lore video planned on Shirou, which will be "high(er) production". As for an analysis, I'll definitely get to that too, it's just a little tricky (and also fun!) because there are 3 paths and I think there are important differences with his character in each.

I'm not much a fan of zero and how it is taken by outsiders in reference to the rest of the fate franchise and the characters, but I'm glad there are people still going through type moon works and enjoying them

I left a comment on the last video about doing a Hunter Hunter video. I gave a couple of suggestions about some characters that you might be interested in covering. Here are some more, Netero is a character that covers it enlightenment, Like you said in this video, hisoka is a very interesting character for a plethora of reasons. you also have basically every member in the zoldic family. They are all the loyal but in a dufferent way to the Zoldic family, like the guard at the front. You have Canary, you have the Butler and a couple others.

Thanks for the suggestions. HxH has so many interesting characters that I could probably make a billion videos and still not cover it all lol. I'm trying to hold off on some of the major characters (like a certain ant king) until I get better at scripting and editing since I'm still just learning the ropes. I'll definitely take your suggestions into account!

SINBAD is the "Side Character-who-outshines-the-protagonist." A Side character built different and can also be called one of the "True Kings" in anime.@@mocha13

Thanks! I plan on doing video essays and lore videos on pretty much every Fate character (within reason). Biiiiig Artoria video coming next. There’s no real order I do them, mainly based on comments. So I’ll bump Cu and Achilles up the list!

@@mocha13 While watching this video I was thinking about Iskander a lot. Also someone like Miya Atsumu since you've seen haikyuu, but I'm just looking forward to any great characters

I have something rather special planned for Haikyuu. There's going to be another 4 videos on Korai, Bokuto, Atsumu, and Hinata. And then a final video on a certain great king. But I want to make these high effort so they might start rolling out around the time of the first movie. But there will definitely be an Iskandar video (or 2) soon!

I highly reccomend playing fate/extra if you want to see more of gil while he doesnt appear in the first fate/extra game he appears in the side/sequel game fate/extra CCC as 1 of the main playble servants you can choose as your partner and the writing for him there is amazing
