Much like selecting Tinder dates who seem nice but also look like people wanted for strangling schoolteachers, your reader needs to understand the backstory of your characters and your world to eventually get lost in your story.
Writing good exposition can be tricky for a new author. You want to do it in a natural way, without info dumping and without too much telling. You need to sprinkle the exposition throughout your narrative.
In this video, I'll show you ways to utilize exposition through conflict, through dialogue and through epistolary devices that sound natural and probably nothing like your shitty writing.
