I don’t know what happened to this genre honestly. It used to be anything but generic with bands like Thrice, Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa (older) etc but somehow got infused with hot topic metalcore and was ruined…

Try to use melodyne 5 instead of autotune, it has more flexible settings so you can tune your vocals better!)
@Bosmek
@Bosmek 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I cound't really figure out how to "manually" autotune well. Melodyne is just too expensive for me rn but I got my hands on a similar plugin for less money (Waves Tune LT), which I will use from now on. On the Post HC track I really just used free snap to grid style tune correction (GSnap and Graillon).

I feel like pop punk is a lot faster, first and foremost. And relies more on open chords than powerchords and chugging. But these two genres are definitely not my strong side.

@@Bosmek Yeah I definitely find myself jamming out at like 200bpm, I also use a lot of spread triads and palm mutes. I rarely use open chords tho they're too busy and kinda don't make sense in a way (even though I know exactly how chords work).

Thanks! I do guttural vocals for a few years on somewhat hobby level now. So even tho I never practice regularily I have at least some idea of what I'm doing.^^ The long scream was actually inhaled, thats probably why it sounded so different and arguably better than the others.
