________
"I never have enough time to study" is a sentence we hear FAR too often.
Obviously, we cant add more hours to the day but you can learn how to use your time more INTENTIONALLY. Doing this will allow you to transform the way you manage your time so you can have the best outcomes when studying or working!
We work with THOUSANDS of students across the world. I see that the problem MOST students have is that they don't actively manage their time - they just move from task to task other than just committing to what is due next. They don’t know HOW MUCH time to spend on a certain task. And they’re not AWARE of what’s ACTUALLY causing them to fall behind all the time.
At the end of the day, it’s about being strategic, focused, and purposeful with each minute.
Here are two time management techniques to help you do JUST THAT!
Are you ready? Let’s get into it!
________
About us:
iCanStudy is an education organisation that transforms students' studying and time management skills into full, evidence-based systems. Our students are able to use these techniques to build long-lasting connections between what they learn at school and their existing knowledge schema. The benefits include significantly higher knowledge retention, deeper and more diverse problem-solving ability (including exam execution), massively reduced procrastination, improved motivation and less time needed to study.

Thank you for such a lucid and beautiful explanation Jennifer, this is real power-packed advice, my favourite video so far 😍💓! Many students & learners underestimate the importance of under-scheduling and abiding by the philosophy of "less is more". It's great to to see that you are encouraging a healthy system for getting things done more sustainably! Looking forward to hear more from you!

Good lesson. I often was sad, cause i thought, that analogue schedule better, then digital. Today you open my eyes, now i can plan in a digital calendar. Thank you so much!

While I'd argue much of what was said can be done with physical planning methods, if you've never really tried digital planning, it's definitely worth giving it an honest try. Experimenting with different techniques is important for figuring out what works for you.

I love this video! But the problem I face is choosing the right digital calendar. As with note-taking apps, there’s such a wide array of productivity tools that researching on the variety takes more time than the app would save, ironically. Any suggestions for THE best free digital calendar, or any videos detailing the same?
@icanstudystudent
@icanstudystudent 7 ай бұрын
Hey @Rhileyn, thanks for the comment! Google calendar is what most of our team works and it works really well. Often, apps that are more sophisticated and offer more customisation tend to be less effective. This is because people spend more time MAKING the system rather than USING the system!

Is there a reason you focused on literal calendars and didn't talk about the more commonly used planners or Bullet Journals? (Or maybe they're just more common than physical calendars in my experience?) You can make all of your activities in clear blocks of time in a planner or Bullet Journal. And I would argue it's easier to mark up the estimation vs. actual outcome in these than with a digital calendar. Because with a digital calendar, you're just editing it and lose the visual of the original estimation. With planners and especially Bullet Journals, you can leave extra room for "what actually happened" blocks or make an easily seen note to indicate what happened. It seems to me that a physical planner or Bullet Journal is a fair alternative to a digital calendar. Or, perhaps, it could be used in conjunction for those who find a physical medium more helpful but want some of the benefits of a digital calendar.

Hey @Digizard, Dgital calendars indeed offer unique advantages over physical planners or Bullet Journals: Flexibility: Digital calendars allow for quick and easy adjustments to your schedule, without the mess of erasing or rewriting. Accessibility: They can be accessed from multiple devices, ensuring your schedule is always within reach. Reminders and Notifications: Digital calendars can send you alerts, reducing the chances of missing important tasks or appointments. While physical planners have their merits, the convenience and adaptability of digital calendars often make them a superior choice for managing a dynamic schedule.
@Digizard

@@icanstudystudentI'm still curious why you chose a regular calendar as a direct comparison instead. What was the reason for that? Do you find more people use physical calendars over physical planners and Bullet Journals? As for your new points, I would argue that some people find the control of working with paper as being more flexible. (I'd add I personally find digital calendars discourage me from editing them.) If you want a level of separation from devices, paper is more accessible and would better promote productivity that may otherwise be lost when turning to a phone or another browser window from what you currently should be doing. And if you're in that latter scenario, alerts and notifications may not be things you want or would work for you. I don't think digital or physical is inherently better than the other, just that they have different strengths. And you don't have to pick only one either.

How does underscheduling even work when school overload students with last minute work, always one more assignment , project . Professors need time management. How do we combat this, because from my pov as a student underscheduling will be suicide for anyone who is taking alot of classes. However the caveat would be the student should be able to recognize their limit and by doing so take less classes which would allow for underscheduling. Good video but found it impractical and not applicable as a student who takes many classes at the moment and works part time

Hey @mronci8650, It's essential to prioritise and manage tasks effectively when dealing with a heavy workload, which we'll explore in our next video. It's not always possible to complete every task - understanding and accepting this is a key part of effective time management, especially when juggling numerous classes and part-time work. Being able to cut losses and understand where that line is, is a skill that needs to be developed. The goal is to find a balance that works best for your unique situation.

so essentially we have to drop stuff or not need to do everything our teachers tell us , like for example priortizing exams over hw, projects over pop quizes. This doesnt work for work or career, cause you technically paid to do the job so that doesnt make much sense nothing can be dropped when you are being paid @@icanstudystudent
