Hey everyone, Andrei Jikh here from "Don't Sweat It". In today's podcast, I had the pleasure of interviewing Ruby from the popular KZfaq channel, Travel Ruby. Started in 2019, this channel, which began with a video using stock footage garnering a whopping 1.4 million views, is your go-to for all things Las Vegas travel tips and reviews. Ruby and her husband's original hotel vlogs that detail each property are a major reason for their skyrocketing success.
Before diving deep into KZfaq, Ruby was rocking the culinary world with a degree and a job as a baker. But the potential of KZfaq as a full-time income stream was too tempting. As a 34 year Vegas resident. I can tell you that Travel Ruby, Norma, Jaycation, among others, have been shown Vegas in it’s best light. I have seen Mr. & Mrs. Ruby, on location. I don’t bother them, but I truly admire the work that they, and others put in.

Ruby was one of the first hotel vlogs we started watching. We moved to Vegas about a year before she and her husband, and we ran into her on a night out... Such a down to earth person. She and "Mr. Ruby" have carved out a great niche and show the good & bad of Vegas. So glad they're enjoying success with really compelling content.

I watch Ruby every morning when I get up in the UK. Her slot play videos are fun. I never thought I’d find myself watching someone play a slot machine, but her mumbling and chatter is so light hearted and fun. Her review videos of hotels are thorough and excellently presented. She’s a gem!

Ruby is “the” voice of Las Vegas. She is the BEST reviewer of hotels, buffets, new stuff, etc. on Vegas. We’ve watched many other You tubers do Vegas and Ruby is #1 in our book. She is an absolute natural and I hope we see her and Mr. Ruby out & about some time.

Really good interview. I'm obsessed with all things Las Vegas, and secretly wish I could do what the Ruby's do. Not for the fame, or the money, but because they're in Vegas. It's not work if you love what you do, and I love Vegas more than anything. I don't have the face for KZfaq, but I have the passion and the work ethic. I have watched Travel Ruby from the beginning. I can honestly say that the 2 times I have been to Vegas I have used her content to plan. She is spot on. I am originally from WI, I understand her vibe. I sincerely hope her and her hubby continue and wish them the best. This video was extremely informative. The content on travel Ruby is gold. Google doesn’t always provide the deeper insights and tips provided on their channel. Property comps (especially moving forward into 2024) was my favorite b/c I want the info before I even approach a host.

I stumbled onto Travel Ruby's channel when she was putting out her 1st or 2nd on camera video lol and the info has been so valuable. I figured she had to be in the culinary arts because her food video critiques were too good lol. Her awkward dances in the elevator, thoughtful observations and even her husband's music soundtrack choices have kept me engaged. When she announced, she was moving to Vegas, I was like huh...you don't already live there? lol. I feel fortunate to witness her journey thru her channels and this video just crystalized that even more.

Love Ruby and have been watching since her redhead days. Two things I learned from this podcast, I can't believe her husband's background isn't in editing as I always imagined that was his background and their surname isn't really Ruby. The thing I love about Ruby's videos is she is so down-to-earth and relatable. Love her and her videos, she is my favourite Vegas influencer - thank you for having her.

This was very interesting, thanks for having Ruby on as a guest. It's been fun to watch their growth and changes. From it just being her, to then her husband being heard and being seen, to Mr Ruby filming his own gambling, at a higher bet amount. I know there has been requests, some people being pretty rude about it (that's the one thing I hate is the rude people). Ruby & Mr Ruby might want to do what feels good for them. A Mr Ruby day, like the Slot Queens Slot Hubby Saturdays. Or like Lady Luck HQ 's husband who likes blackjack, so he has his Dudeluck23 channel. It's been fun to watch the husband and wife teams evolve so there's something for everyone. I love Ruby's channel not just for the gambling. She's funny, quirky, bubbly, most of all real. Her snorts are the best 😂 ❤

I am a slot tech. Ruby isn't wrong on the pay tables being more favourable for higher denoms. The games are set up to pay to a percentage and over time they will pay to that amount at a very accurate rate. It is like a coin flip, you know if you flip it long enough it will be 50% heads and 50% tails. But in the end with a slot machine it will pay pretty much dead on for the percentage the game is set. In Vegas the State publishes the percentage of pay backs. The off strip casinos pay the best paybacks but in the end, you can't beat the casinos If you stay there too long

I really like Travel Ruby and their channels. Like most, I agree that she is honest, has camera appeal, is fun and I think it is kind of funny how Mr. Ruby is on camera now, when he used to avoid it.
