Turkey is home to many ancient civilisations which have left behind thousands of artifacts. But a large number of these relics have gone missing - stolen by bounty hunters and smuggled out of the country. Some have been found behind glass cabinets in Western museums. Aadel Haleem reports.

All ancient artefacts should be returned to their country of origin, in my opinion.

To their people of origin would be more just. These artifacts are Greek, because that was Greek land before the Turks invaded. Some artifacts are Roman, because of the Roman empire. The Roman soldiers conquered Greek lands. However, the people on these lands were Greek. Returning Greek artifacts to the Turks is Genocide.

The Ottoman Empire was based on religions, not ethnicities. Some indigenous people of the area became Muslims and eventually expelled by their non-Muslim communities and called 'Turks'. In addition to that; Turks are genetically Anatolian (West Asian), only some of them have small amount of Central Asian DNA. Basically the country is a melting pot.

T*rks are the real looters, 99.999% of all their artifacts within their museums aren't even from their ancestors.

@@thekraken1173 Greece influenced Italian architecture and artistry/culture in such a significant way, you in no way can't say the artifacts we possess aren't the outcome of mode civilizations combined. You tried to sound smart, but you're just a delusional mudhut dweller who doesn't know better.

@@runeterrahikayeleri Which historically has been Greek since 300 before Christ with the inhabitants leaving merely 100 years ago forcefully by the inbred roach called Fagat*rk. Turks needed something to put in their museums but since their cultural impact is below zero, they're forced to steal Greek culture and pass it as their own, in true barbaric mudhut fashion.
