The British Museum, located in London, is a public institution dedicated to human history, art, and culture. Its permanent collection of eight million works is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world, having been gathered widely during the era of the British Empire. It was the world's first public national museum. The Museum was established in 1753 and first opened to the public in 1759. Come and walk with me around and see some amazing Mummies from Egypt to Victorian England and so much more!

tip for visiting is that since it is free, it is good to drop in for an hour or so and then get on with your day. As well, the evening hours once a week are far more peaceful.

I was hanging on your every word here Tim. I visited it nearly 60 years ago. I saw the film 'Scott of the Antarctic' on TV and the next day I was absolutely compelled to go there, to see his Diary with its final entry. It was like something just drew me there and I felt so emotional. You made this such an extremely interesting video and record Tim. If you stayed there a month I doubt you could take it all in and tourists cannot believe entry is free. In most countries you need a second mortgage to go to one. I believe also Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes made a wonderful film about Sutton Hoo, it really was quite incredible. Thanx Tim.
