I actually had a funny experience with the IP thing. One day I was playing skyblock, when one of my friends got muted out of nowhere. I didn’t know what his reason was at first, so I visited his island and tried to talk to him. I didnt have his discord at the time so I couldn’t just talk to him there. Since he was muted, he grabbed the snow blocks from his snow minion (his profile was fairly early game, so he only had 1 snow minion) and used it to type words on his island. While he was placing blocks, he placed the words “IP” to explain why he got muted. And I LITERALLY said in chat: “Ohh so u were joking about someone’s Ip address and then got muted?” And then Hypixel IMMEDIATELY flagged it and muted me. When I got muted, I invited him to my island, and then I used my dark oak block in the island to explain to him that I got muted too. It was a DOUBLE MUTE. Both of us were just so confused and we’re just laughing our butts off. I’m just so grateful that both us didn’t get BANNED for it, and we were only muted for just a day. Thankfully nothing bad happened, both of us are safe and sound.

I’m pretty sure saying “ip” at all is an auto ban or mute and it’s not reviewed by staff. I said “I have your ip” on my private island as a test, with no one else on the island. I got a week mute 5 seconds after I said it.

I can't believe Hypixel won't let you discuss the intricacies of Intellectual Property laws on their server.

Fun fact: An IP address is like an internet phone number. While sharing it publicly is not a good idea, every website and minecraft server already knows what it is. If you host a server for your friends then you'll see their IPs in the logs. Technically it should be fine to share it with your friends just as you do with your real house address.

I actually got 360 banned for saying, "I'm cuckoo for cocoa puffs and I have your IP." This was last year right as summer vacation started.

I was once banned from Hypixel for a year because my account got hacked. When I came back on the day of my unban, the language my Hypixel was set to was different than my own, indicating it was a hacker. Hypixel refused to apologise or compensate me.

I got banned for saying something like “Your ip is 48389.288492.388392.” As a joke in a Bedwars match. Clearly this “ip” number is a fake one, but I tried reasoning an appeal and the Mod didn’t care lol. In my opinion, this shouldn’t grant me a 30 day ban, when they had access to chat logs and the context.

I always get super excited to see a new video of your guys, no matter if I’m actually playing skyblock or not.

I just started playing Hypixel after downloading Java Minecraft and I learned how easy it is to get banned, and how rare it is to get your appeal accepted. I was banned for 7 days because my teammate on build battles built something inappropriate without my knowledge, leading me to getting banned for something I didn't do. As you would expect, my appeal was denied.

some guy in party finder had the breaking bad funny (location name etc) in his 300 Score message, I told him "you could get beamed for that" and he had no idea. this ban reason is a lot more common than it would appear.

I think the hypixel staff is much too hard to us. When they make mistakes sometimes they dont even unban you and give you everything back or say sorry...

i think the most funny bug was with the rock pet when you mount on it while being too close to a wall you could walk but at the same time the others see you in your pet and you were able to break/place blocks and they stayed when you dismounted so you could walk on these blocks which also looks like flyhacking and the other thing you could do while "sitting" on your rock is that you can take super tnt and let it explode which was visable to the others but they dont see you since you were "invisible"

I got a 30 day ban for the same reason as the first guy. Someone joked about having my address and I joked back that it’s actually 127001 (you know, the one that literally EVERYONE ON THIS PLANET HAS). I swear whoever denies those appeals is technically illiterate and has no sense of humor.

Hypixel admins really only have 2 braincells, You could say your IP is 123456 and they’d ban you for months. Sure some jokes go too far but the messages showed here are obviously sarcastic and are impossible to take seriously considering the IP adresses and coordinates don’t even work

The last guy probably only got a day long mute because it was handled by their machine learning experiment to be reviewed by staff

Even if the numbers were correct, the 30VitaminRants guy didn’t even type in a public ip address (192 is reserved for private ip addresses), so it would mean that they were on the same network and no one could connect to it 💀

I understand a zero-tolerance policy for dox threats, but honestly it feels like hypixel takes death threats more lightly, or other really bad chat behavior. It doesn't help the ip address stuff became a meme in early 2022, cuz those bans probably skyrocketed there. One way you could differentiate jokes from threats is that an actual threat would go farther and usually through multiple messages, to convince more that they are serious. I also wonder if stating the "turi ip ip ip" meme from a bit earlier time would get you banned

I literally did the exact same thing as 30VitaminRants while trophy fishing. I was arguing with a random guy and sent some random numbers as his IP, I ended up getting a 30 day ban.

one time i got banned on hypixel, and it didnt state a reason for the ban, nor did i break any rules. most i'd ever say in hypixel is gg during bedwars matches. and yet got banned with no reason provided.
