Been buying Uniqlo for over ten years. All of Reggie’s points are spot on. I would also add that the absence of all visible branding is what makes it so appealing.

Uniqlo is bar none the cheapest and highest quality clothing brand, especially if you want a japanese driven style. It fits so seamlessly into so many styles, and as someone who is a huge WTAPS fanboy, it works so well to slot in UNIQLO for basics to combine with higher end pieces.

uniqlo is still on the expensive range for a lot of people [except some items] but it's still got the vibe where people WANT to save up to buy these basics because the quality is still higher than what you'd find in other $50+ stores [aud for me]

When I moved from a warm place to a colder place a few years ago, I bought all kinds of heatech under layer, from ordinary one to ultra warm one, a wind breaker and a down coat with me. For those heat tech, I used them every spring, autumn and winter on daily basis. The wind breaker is the one I always grab in winter. I don’t reach my down coat as frequent as I planned to as the weather ends up not too cold here. Their 100% wool or cashmere items are great too. Easy to clean and hold their forms great after washed. The quality of their 100% cotton T is great too. I’m lucky enough that I used to live in a place that Uniqlo is very accessible to and in a relatively cheap price tags because no VAT is added.

The most underrated property of clothing that Uniqlo excel at is IT WASHES WELL. Unlike other budget brands the colours remain fast, the seams dont unravel, no bobbling etc. My wardrobe is 50% Uniqlo, 50% Yohji/Y3/Issey/Rick Owens/boutique.

Uniqlo is the glue of my outfits. It is understated, affordable and timeless. I wear some higher end clothing brands but uniqlo pieces complete my look, it is filler that actually looks good.

Uniqlo had been in my wardrobe since 2008, always the place must to shop while I was in HK at that time, those are the time when they are kind of starting being accessible in Asia other than Japan. And Heatech has been and still being my only under layer during winter time.

I can afford pretty much any fashion brand….. Uniqlo my go to for basics. Why pay $100 US plus when I can get a beautiful cotton tee on sale for $9.99? Plus , I agree about trends.. working with French and UK designers… brilliant! LOVE Uniqlo.

i like em cause they tend to do a subtle twist on common pieces for instance, i have a pair of jeans from them that i love that look a little dressier, and look like a simplified pair of jeans. also lack of branding helps

Uniqlo is the goat! Although I have noticed there is some quality difference between Uniqlo in Japan vs Uniqlo in North America, not to mention pretty big price gap as well.

i liked shibuya parco and dover street market for small brands, even the train stations have stuff like beams. The back streets of omotesando have very many large stores for Japanese brands like undercover, cdg, yohji you'll never see in the US. Must visit

as much as i love uniqlo, it's getting harder to avoid calling them fast fashion... even though they really don't chase trends at all, it feels like they have big issues with greenwashing and also we can't forget their current controversies with poor employee treatment. and the constant gassing up of the brand causes way more overconsumption. i know too many ppl that constantly buy from the brand at retail as if doing that is any different from buying zara or h&m regularly. i don't wanna shade the brand too much but at the same time, the fast fashion label for them is a real slippery slope

What’s better than HeatTech? Marino Wool, Alpaca, Mohair, Lambswool, and Flannel. I’m sure there’s more but I’ll stop there.

Agreed! Love Uniqlo, but what do you suggest for an older woman going to Tokyo in June? What should I wear? Don't want to die of heatstroke, but want to look stylish.
@susanma4899
@susanma4899 2 ай бұрын
As an older woman in Tokyo right now, I'll tell you that the intense humidity doesn't hit until July and after. June is the rainy season, so just have an umbrella and raincoat (Japan has a vast selection of umbrellas to choose from). Once the rainy season ends, the heat begins, but of course there'll be some occasional hot days before that. Japanese ladies dress modestly, so longish skirts and short or long-sleeved tops are popular. Flowy pants, like palazzo style are good in the heat. Do not wear leggings. Shorts are okay, but I'd avoid showing your shoulders or chest. There's always people who say to wear whatever you want, and you can, but that's my advice. People dress nicely here.

Id recommend wearing slip-on or velcro shoes. Saves time lacing in places where taking your shoes off is required. Smart-casual, loose layering in muted tones. Everyone looks clean and pressed. Neatly cut hair and pretty, neutral make up. Take decent deodorant! If you've got a subcultural style (goth, punk etc) don't worry. You'll often see quirky people dotted about. Tbh I never liked Uniqlo. The cuts just don’t fit me properly and the quality and design never spoke to me. The only thing I love about Uniqlo are the collabs with Designern. I wear the Uniqlo x JWanderson collab almost every day

Interesting and informative video. However, even though I do shop at Uniqlo too, there’s something very wrong with the company which you happened to leave out. Indeed, you actually went as far as to call the brand “ethical” when you probably know Uniqlo has been condemned a few times for their labour conditions. Yes, I am talking about Uigur slaves being used to make the clothes. Now, you don’t have to go into geopolitics when making fashion videos but if you’re gonna talk about Uniqlo’s methods, you might as well give the full picture. There’s nothing ethical about the way they make clothes and that’s why they come cheap! Mind you, it is not an example either in terms of Environment. However, it is good quality and top notch design, we can all agree on that (and I’ll let you call me a hypocrite for being aware of Uniqlo’s horrible social and environmental impact and still buying from them😅). Just wanted to throw in this crucial piece of information, but I still enjoyed your video, as well as the previous ones. Keep it up!

REGGIE uniqlo is boring and all the collabs are now watered down and just seems like mild basics. when i look at anything engineered garments i can hardly tell what's different from uniqlo U stuff. sure the quality is okay but i never felt like stuff would last more than a few seasons of wear. Work wear jackets/chore jackets still feel low quality rather than what the label would suggest. I wouldn't expect them to last longer than a wrangler jacket for example. When i pick up a cashmere top from them i just don't feel it man. Picking up their selveged denim just doesn't inspire me. I know they're marketing it as a more up market product but it's just not as good as what they're aiming for. You bring up Uniqlo +J as if that wasn't two years ago and it's the last time i was ever excited for anything uniqlo.
