Will the land mine attachment work okay since it seems like it would need to be connected to the cross members rather than the uprights? Also, how cumbersome will it be to get attachments like j-cups/safeties/etc. on/off the front uprights with the cables running along those uprights? Especially wondering about this with the PR5000 where the cables run up the outside of the front upright - will this impact adding and removing these attachments?

@markhalstead2386
@markhalstead2386 Жыл бұрын
The selector pin sits exactly at the mid point of the 16" cross over. The weight horn center will be 8+1.5" or 9.5" from the Ares selector pins. An Olympic plate is around 17.72" in diameter and one half of that diameter would extend toward the selector pins. One half the diameter is 8.86", which is less than the 9.5" distance from the selector pin. At the widest part of the plate, it will be 0.64" of distance to the selector pin, however the plate is curved so really it would be that minimum distance at one point.
@Chandlerd17
@Chandlerd17 2 жыл бұрын

Very impressive, for incline benching you can get the Hoist 5167 bench if you don’t want to move where you bench. This should work since when it’s 75-degrees the back post is almost flush with the back of the pad giving you enough clearance with the weight stack. The smaller angles as it approaches being flat is achieved by the back pad sliding forward so the back post never needs to move. The best part are the interior narrow cables that you can clip together to utilize a true 1:1 weight stack ratio, which is something no other functional trainer has. You can also unclip to work each side unilaterally, which looks great.

I know it’s a late question but you said it works with the belt squat attachment. Does it still work with the cable catch so you can start the belt squat at the top position? I know the first plates will be raised before you can add more weight. Is there a solution?

Is there enough room to rack/ squat off the rear post inside the cage? Or do you have to turn around and squat off front post?

Is that the leg roller being used for the lat pull-down at the 7:39 mark? The leg roller (even if you buy 2) for the PR5000 still seems too short at 20" each with a rack width of 47" (i think that's the 5000 inside width). Are there other options available for a leg holder?

Yes, this will be a huge oversight. I don't think the leg rollers will work with the Ares since the space between the weight stack and the uprights are around 5 inches (look at the 12:43 mark) . The leg holder in the 7:39 mark is an entirely new product that's not even for sale. That leg holder must be available at launch or lat pull down will not work. Edit: Let me take that back. If you have the flip down safeties and 2 leg rollers, it will work. The reason why I think it will work is if you look at the Selectorized video (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/juCmnbKStLCmeWQ.html) the guy in the video uses two leg rollers.

If you have the flip down safeties, you can use those for the rollers to set you further back, that being said yes they are too short, I am planning on buying some large PVC pipe to actually slide over them both to create kind of my own lap bar if that makes sense.

@@LordTrolled I had a similar thought about getting a little more room but not the PVC pipe. I think that's a good idea. Thanks!

So glad I looked into the ares before getting the lat attachment. My only concern is the compatibility between the banana and the low row? Any clarifications on this?
@REPfitness
@REPfitness 2 жыл бұрын
The low row has it's own piece that can be used for low rows but also a center attachment so you can use more single point attachments.

If you do a 4 post rack with 16 inch cross members can you still incline bench? Maybe you can make an extended J cup of not?

Looks awesome! I have a PR5000 (4 upright posts) in my cart ready to go. Will I need to add 2 additional uprights as well, or does the Ares come with those?

@REP Fitness so when i go to the pr-5000 configurator i will not add 16" crossmembers, but instead buy a 4 post configuration and then buy 2 more uprights separately?

Looks like we all have such clarity questions. Some example complete configurations on the website including sku's and matching sketches would be great. I mean, it's very clear "power rack not included", but still, my default thoughts are "looks like all these radio button choices means the 16" extension is included"

The video states the AREAS adds 3 and 3/4" to the height of the rack. Is this true? Documentation on Rep Fitness website says 1.2" only. Looking to install the 93" ARES rack in a 96" height limited space...which is the correct spec? thanks!
